Nooooooo! Please nooooooo! feckI'm totally lost, the plan was to finally pick a defensive midfielder, but then you guys went all crazy and picked my whole list. So feck defending, let's create some chances for Gerd to score instead. I'm delighted to get him, someone who can dribble and create down the middle and play wonderful defense splitting passes:
Looks like a nice guy as well.
Mate, you've really done one on Me.
I was wondering who'd pick Suurbier. We considered him, but LW is the strongest pool in this draft and decided to pass on from the inevitable comments on matchday thread.
I've no idea to be honest. There are others who play and follow draft games way longer than I do. @Gio might know it? I was actually surprised that he lasted so long, especially because there's in my opinion a rather limited number of great AMs in this draft. He's absolutely brilliant, would have had a great career at Real if Ceausescu didn't forbid the transfer. These are players who I thought I could get in the next few rounds but they all gone!
@Balu You've been on the mains for a long time, has Dobrin ever been drafted for a game? I checked his name on the caf on sataurday and only 3 posts came up... I was so sure I'd bag him
So true. His story is rather sad but also inspiring in the way he played for his hometown club for nigh on his entire career while spurning chances to play for tge Romanian big boys... Almost like Le Tissier.I've no idea to be honest. There are others who play and follow draft games way longer than I do. @Gio might know it? Are you from Romania? So true. His story is rather sad but also inspiring in the way he played for his hometown club for nigh on his entire career while spurning chances to play for tge Romanian big boys... Almost like Le Tissier.
I own a restaurant in the U.K, I employ Eastern Europeans and my current emloyee ( a romanian called Elvis) told me about him when I mentioned this draftAre you from Romania?
If he want to pass on a few more details about his career, I'm happy to receive a PMI own a restaurant in the U.K, I employ Eastern Europeans and my current emloyee ( a romanian called Elvis) told me about him when I mentioned this draft
Will do the main problem is the fact he only played for his hometown side and he didn't do much internationally. If he want to pass on a few more details about his career, I'm happy to receive a PM
EURO draft probably hehe. It was you who had him then, right?Since when is van Moer everyone's target?
It's the draft pool. Think we should have gone with 8 and not 16 teams here. If I am not wrong, both 50s and 60s draft were done with 8 teams onlySince when is van Moer everyone's target?
Reckon we should spice it up after round 6 and do the rest of the draft with players born in the 30s....It's the draft pool. Think we should have gone with 8 and not 16 teams here. If I am not wrong, both 50s and 60s draft were done with 8 teams only
16 teams is fine. There will be some obscure players picked up later on, but it's good to have some variety and not just the usual suspects. It's the draft pool. Think we should have gone with 8 and not 16 teams here. If I am not wrong, both 50s and 60s draft were done with 8 teams only
As far as scan voters are concerned, obscure players are already being picked. Would be surprised if average voting in first round draft games exceeds 10 per match.16 teams is fine. Heh.. I don't mind low voting but it will be very difficult to formulate some of the arguments. It will be a bit like the All time British draft. In any case, with low voting this draft may not be the best pilot for any score related voting changes.Well, we could easily have drafts featuring nothing but well known, voter friendly players all the time - but then we'd get bored to tears ourselves, and nobody would bother signing up for the drafts in the first place. And so the scan voters would have nothing to scan.

There's a difference between not well known and obscure. The amount of materials (articles/videos) available to rate a players is in itself will be difficult to find for players picked in rounds 5 or 6, imo. Even down the line, it would become a farce if we start going by manager claims and random bits of data. The hard work goes to managers to put up a decent case for the obscure ones. Hope we just don't get "He has played as half back so can do any kind of job in midfield' arguments.

Nah I think this is his debut. These are players who I thought I could get in the next few rounds but they all gone!

The difference here compared to the British draft is that all of the players are part of the same generation, so in theory we have access to broadly the same level of media coverage. That'll vary subject to where the player comes from, but it's certainly a lot more equal than any of the all-time drafts. I think the 50s draft was 10 teams which probably struck a good balance, but the beauty here is that teams will be getting built around lesser lights for a change - apart from the sell-out cnut Chester - rather than the usual suspects.

Probably yes.We shall see. My personal experience is that unless someone really puts in the effort like anto, even in this kind of draft, the team with most known name wins out.
Shame. I wanted to be the one who introduced to the cafNah I think this is his debut.
