Television 24

Most people cite the mountain lion, but aside from that it was definitely the best season in my book.

Its my all time favourite too. Along with S3, I really liked Chase and the Salazars. Plus Nina getting capped, Chase's arm being chopped off and Jack putting a bomb in a school fridge. Etc etc.

Chapelle being capped too, what a fecking episode.

Sorry, I should've stated that 'downhill' meant it wasn't as good, I still thought 2 and 3 were excellent, just not as good as 1. 4 was the one that changed plots every 3 hours and got completely idiotic. I couldn't really watch past 5, the show is just way past it's sell by date for me.

I agree with you on 4, it chopped and change a lot.

5 was amazing for the first arc.. 6 & 7 were both good too.

The thing is its not really bad in any places IMO, they just get worse in comparison to the other seasons, but they are all bloody good.

Why do you feel its past its sell by date? I have conversations with people about how its 'unrealistic' he can save the day this many times. Maybe, but really he's only done it 5 times or so, remember the seasons in total take the span of a week. I am sure there is a lot of '24' style operations going on daily/weekly/monthly in the world to prevent terrorism.

I love the show. The best thing on telly, but i can never remember at the start of a season who died in the last one.

Is Tony still alive??

Should be within the hour, only just finished on tv here.

I thought the latest episode....

was another 'bridge' style episode to set the story further as opposed to any kind of action, tedious. I think the plot line of Hassan's death runs deeper than just his brother, almost to the point that it could of been his wife/daughter (as in they knew about his affair)

My wife bought me series 3 for Xmas, just finished watching it. Fantastic, really enjoyed it.

I don't really like the new season although I am only 3 episodes in. For me, it's just the same old storylines being regurgitated. It's been going for far too long now in my opinion :(

Good episode. Better than the last one at least.

Kinda like the turnaround with Ortiz saving Jack's life this time around.

Hopefully the Walsh subplot gets absorbed or concludes by the end of the next episode.

No way Vladimir finishes the next episode alive. Either he takes himself out or Walker Texas Chainsaw Massacre shanks him.

Aight episode I guess.Again Kevin's buddy still hasn't spoken one single word.I just hope by next episode some conclusion will be brought to this Dana mini plot .Bazaev reminds of Jack's Bauer, an old cnut ready to kill his sons

im sure he said a word in this ep

another slow episode for me this one, still hanging around the russian theme & not really developing whatsoever. I did find Renee popping the knife in that guys eye hilarious though.

I do hope it picks up some pace, or some action at least as its slowly getting tedious.

eg.

"We know someone has nukes" - "OK GO RING EVERYONE YOU KNOW AND FIND OUT"

dragging out a whole episode on that shit is boring. rant over

Not as filler as the last one but it did take a long time to develop.

Idiot sidekick choosing to stay for an extra 15 minutes was mountain-lion dumb.

Walker Texas Chainsaw Massacre strikes again.

Prediction for the next few episodes: Renee gets escorted back to CTU. She learns of some clue that could help find Jack but Bubba Gump Hastings doesn't believe it so he won't authorize a team to go check it out. Renee will get charged with murdering Leytanin and escape (with Chloe's help) and go on a rampage in an effort to save Jack because, after he told her she still has him while she thought she had nobody, she now believes he's all she has left.

More Chloe. Less Dana.

Also either someone on the set needs to stop shining a light in Freddie Prinze Jr.'s eyes or he needs to stop making faces that suggest he just laid the biggest fart ever and he's hoping nobody noticed.

What the 2 previous posts basically said. It's ridiculous to use this phone thingy for an entire episode. The Dana imbroglio took a huge part of the episode and Kevin's friend is a fecking retard
Shame that the interesting part only happened in the last 5 minutes, President Hassan becoming a maniac and arresting everyone is funny though

Start to this season so far pales in comparison to the last one. Possibly the slowest start of all seasons so far. They better have something good up their sleeve.

someone please kill Dana and her retarded blackmailers. I have absolutely no attachment to them in the storyline at all. who gives a feck? double tap to the head and lets get on with the real characters. BTW wouldn't it be funny if Tom Hanks was brought in for questioning shouting "and thats all i know about that.. Bubba!"

it would improve things at this point, GB

One of the best kills i've ever seen on 24. Jack taking the knife out of his stomach and launching it into the Ginge's throat. Killer stuff.

- In a way felt sorry for Kevin, because that idiot sidekick he is with is beyond spastic.
- Next episode needs to erupt, as the last two have been very much fillers, but thats OK because it can't always be breakneck action.

Feels like they're just playing it safe this season at the mo. It's not spectacular but it's not unspectacular. I don't care for Dana/Jenny, or Kevin, or Arlo, or Ortiz, or President Hassan. It is still good, it's just missing something. Jack's knife fling to the throat was awesome though.

Totally agree. I was so bored that I missed the only exciting part of the episode

stabby stabby. Basically, everything not involving Jack really sucks. Especially the Dana storyline. They also killed off Leoben too fast.

Think last season was so fast paced and action packed because they knew they needed to pull audience back after dire season 6. So perhaps it unfair to expect same this season but this is not even up to normal 24 standards. Going by their normal formula, they should be wrapping up the first arc in next two episodes.

I really hope they do not waste more time on Renee getting charged for murder angle now.

Really disappointing season. Not enough jack bauer, hopefully that changes.

Some terrible acting by the Iranian contingent as well even by 24 standards.

Definitely the slowest start to any season of 24. Some terrible acting and to be honest, it's actually quite boring.

As much as I love the show, I hope Season 8 is the last.

God there are some real whiners on this board.

It's not been that bad of a season - Now people are complaining about Hasan and his arc. I found the little switch in his character quite refreshing because up until then he was just obeying Taylor like a little dog - 'Madammmm president'..

Yeah.

I haven't felt as indifferent to the characters in previous seasons personally.

Can you really describe Dana Walsh or Brian Hastings in words without describing their role? I can't...

White and black.

They are gonna make a movie if this the last season. BTW show creators want to make another one, it is up to FOX now.

The problem for 24 right now is that all the characters you cared about are pretty much gone. The only character to really connect to is Jack. Too many good characters killed off too soon. The show really suffers without Tony.

much better episode tonight, i think the more they focus on the core storyline with Jack and keep the changes of that storyline frequently then it'll be great. The next episode looks great & like the first segment of the season coming to a head

Definitely a much better episode, but not enough Renee for my tastes. Although it was nice for a change to see the soft side of Chloe. Hastings really is a jackass. I do have to agree that this season is very short on sympathetic characters.

Also how high does Dana rank in terms of the dumbest CTU agents ever?

Love the escape to kill transition by Bauer followed by the monkey kill followed by the double headshot through the window followed by the table knockout. That was ridiculous...ly awesome.

Surprisingly I did not see that betrayal by the son coming. I knew he would betray his father, but I thought it would be to turn him in rather than to continue the cause on his own.

Edit: Who the hell shoots glassware? Was he trying to flush Bauer out there or what?
