Television 24

1 isn't the best because of low budget, but if you do start from 2 then make sure you read an overview of season 1 and what happened...otherwise you won't understand some of 2. :)

 One is awesome and important in terms of the backdrop for the rest of the show. Do not skip it!

Your right, but it can be skipped as long as you read up online about it. Also its certainly not the best. I just don't want him to watch 1 and then not enjoy it, thats all...but probably best to start from 1.

Will watch it from Season 1 onwards then. Thanks for the advice, and I hope I'll enjoy the series as much as all of you nuts in here.

season 1 was great and is definitely one of the best seasons, if he watched it from the others and decides he wants to go back to it then all the decent twists in season one would be ruined and wouldnt have the same impact

Well I watched the first 2 episodes of season 8 last night. Seems ok, that Chloe bird is a right grumpy bitch, feckin smile you tart. Amazing how the retired Jack gets back into CTU without even a mention of paperwork or any id or anything!

Either way, the story seems ok, just reminds me of a few of the other seasons really. I'll keep going.

well i tried to save them up - i watched the first then couldn't resist the next three.

excellent so far

 Welcome back, Erica.

I could swear Mary Lynn Rajskub is just doing the potato face on purpose now and probably trying to make it more and more pronounced every episode.

At this point it is definitely very hard to write a season without stealing something from a previous season, but I do think the writers are performing some sort of farewell tour this season because so many things are being recycled. Season 6 was like that too, but this time it's much better because it seems like they're doing it to pay respects to the loyal fanbase this time around rather than to try to recycle something that previously worked out of desperation.

when is ep5 downloadable??

Episode 5 will be available for download no earlier than 22:00 Eastern Time = 03:00 British Time. It will be this way every week unless they do a two hour special which is usually the case some time near the middle of the season and for the finale.

Usually one hour after House is available if that makes it easier for people to keep track.

Decent episode. Filler mostly but made up for it with some needed background info.

Far too much Jenny/Dana stuff. I'm going to be pissed if it doesn't loop back into the main plot and it simply leads to Cole - Dana trust issues.

I agree with so many comments in this thread. I love the show but for christs sake how many more times does Jack have to save the world before characters realise that what he says is always right?

I'm now just wondering how many episodes in it's going to be in this season before Jack is framed and on the run (again).

Good to see i'm not going crazy, she does the potato head impression very well :D

I'll stick with it, it's good entertainment even if its not exactly fresh material. I probably could do with watching s3-6 considering I skipped them...

I agree with you in saying that the episode was a good filler. It helps to understand Renée specially when she was undercover and what she suffered after season 7.
Jenny/Kevin is getting really tedious now, who the hell was Kevin's friend ? He didn't even say one fecking word .He just stood there.
I have a hard time taking this Vladimir seriously since that actor was on "californication" and was pretty much another Hank Moody

I was supposed to wait and watch them with my mates (for the first time ever) but I simply can't even wait for that one extra week.

I've watched this show since Episode 1, S1 on BBC2 and as soon as its available I need to see it. :nervous:

Apart from the Renee stuff the episode was incredibly filler. At the end it just felt like no progress was made in any other storylines really.

I partly agree, but it can't always move at the speed of light. Thats one of the problems previous seasons had IMO.

There was progress made;

- Hasan's political situation has changed, obviously has a big impact on the peace treaty.
- The Dana/Jenny plot has thickened, whether or not people approve of it or not. I am hoping that Cole puts a cap in that guy fairly soon.
- Renee scenes were all good, things can't be expected to move at Marwan speed always.
- Russian brother (or Kenzi from Heroes) refuses to let brother die, which will lead to a feck up from him and eventually CTU will be led to the Russian buyer.

oh how i hope you are right geebs
Does not look good...

"CB: I’m asked this question on a daily basis, so I might as well answer it. I’ll never say never when it comes to 24. It’s been such a special part of my life and an honor working with all of the incredibly talented people that have helped make the show the success that it’s been. That being said, I have not been contacted by the studio or producers of 24 about season 8. They’re already well into filming next season and I’m about to start work on a film in South Carolina. So, at this point, I highly doubt that I’ll be involved in the next season of 24. "

:(

Speculating if a character comes back or not is not spoiler I think.
Regardless I still think he would be in it especially if it is the last season.

Just saying as that quote makes it sound almost definite that he's not gonna make it back.

It's the best out of the lot... everything went downhill from there and got ridiculous.

Explain. Season 2 was incredible for starters. What made it ridiculous?

Sorry, I should've stated that 'downhill' meant it wasn't as good, I still thought 2 and 3 were excellent, just not as good as 1. 4 was the one that changed plots every 3 hours and got completely idiotic. I couldn't really watch past 5, the show is just way past it's sell by date for me.
