Television 24

I can't believe it's coming back. I wish it was a whole season though.

Is Edgar coming back? He was cool.

What about Kim? I wonder what will be chasing her this time, maybe they'll time travel and have a raptor after her or something.

Edgar died in Season 5 and Kim will no doubt find a way of getting into trouble.

What?!? Season 3 was awful.

Seasons 1+2 (2 especially) were the absolute tits.

Went downhill after then with occasional good seasons.

Season 2 was pretty sketchy (although strangely compelling...) Remember the cougar? Or how about the coke-addled abusive father? Season 3 was very good (as far as 24 goes.) There were some brutal choices that had to be made. Season 5 was probably the best of the bunch, while Season 6 was the worst.

Why is this happening? If this airs at the same time as Dexter I'll go crazy with rage.

Dexter is the show that shouldn't be coming back. For a show that was once legitimately very good (unlike 24, which was a true guilty pleasure,) it has really jumped the shark in the last few seasons.

Let me hit you back with your "What?!?".Season 1 was truly shit and Season 2 and with Kim with the cougar :wenger: wtf was that all about ?

Yeah, season 1 wasn't that great - it obviously got the ball rolling, and there are suspenseful bits (particularly the dark, ambient vibe on the streets of LA,) but the Dennis Hopper character was truly awful.

I always thought that an interesting idea for the movie (or perhaps a season,) would be to show the Jack Bauer backstory. For example, we could see him in Bosnia (or Kosovo - they never seemed to straighten that one out!) where he comes up against the Drazens and works with Steven Saunders. It would also be interesting to do said movie without the constraints of the 24-hour frame.

You know it's a really great decision to cut the number of episodes in half, hopefully they'll be able to make it more effective.

The legendary cougar  I still don't understand what went through the writers' mind to come up with a such shit idea

Yeah the cougar was pretty bad, on the plus side it did allow us to see Elisha Cuthbert wearing that top in the cold ;)

The Kim storylines in every series of 24 were pretty appalling. The rest of season 2 was epic though.

Season 2 had the worst ending out of all of them, but it introduced us to Palmer as a President and overall was a good season.

The biggest mistake the show ever made:

Killing off David Palmer, although it did help set up a cracking fifth season.

Nah Palmer's character had run its course, he was killed off at the right time. As you say Bauer being framed for his death set up the season.

Shouldn't we be using spoilers? Anyway, you're right about how it framed that season, but the succession of presidents that followed was awful
particularly Wayne Palmer.

Don't need to use spoilers on something that's happened.

Logan was a great character and contributed wonderfully to my favourite season. But of course none of them compared to Palmer, who we all want our leaders to be like. The writers didn't want just want the same President portrayed by another person though.

Don't forget it wasn't Palmers death that led to a change of President, he'd already resigned and come back at the back end of season 4 to help Logan. There wasn't really anything more that could be done with his character.

Hayter did however say he was disappointed they killed his character off.

David Palmer is the best president that history will remember, real or not.
