Basically, the DNC (rightfully) said about Palestinians:

Losing that NBC deal sent her over the edge, it’s funny how desperate she is to ingratiate herself back to the right.
And yet, she is seemingly a millionaire and financially well-off, she doesn't necessarily need to 'grift' for right wing viewership. But she does anyway.
There’s no trust between both sides, and the DNC is pageantry, they aren’t risking the chance of whoever the speaker is going off script and refer to the event in Gaza as a genocide.
Realistically speaking, the legs of the movement were swept out from under them the moment Biden left the race. The reaction I’ve seen online is pretty much favourable to Harris in a ‘vote-and-see’ kind of way, so you aren’t in a position to bargain if you have no leverage. Lamentable as it is, the Uncommitted cause just doesn’t have the disruptive potential of PUMA, and to lesser extent, Bernie or Bust.
I understand both points of view tbh. The DNC will argue that this time and venue is uniquely important and above all about Harris' success in November. The Pro-Gaza movement will argue that its issue supercedes any mundane political machinations.
Politically, at this point in time with a ceasefire stuck with the two parties, I see no upside to making it a major issue at the DNC. The inability for the US to get both sides to agree (and Qatar/Egypt, everyone else who somehow escape criticism) means the last thing Harris wants is that to be on center stage. Here, look at our failure.
The flipside is that the pro-Gaza movement rightly feels like this is the best opportunity to get its voice heard and amplified by the media, and that only through constant pressure on the Democratic party can it achieve its goals of, at lesat for now, a ceasefire.
So the two sides were never going to agree on this one, imo.
With regards to the actual election, and withdrawing support for Harris that's absolutely within the rights of the organisers. It ignores the reality of the situation which is zero-sum though, but sometimes people put principles over outcomes and fair play to them, I find that naive, some people find it admirable. The reality is that anyone not voting for Harris makes it more likely that Trump will be in charge of the negotiations in January. And given all we know about the man, his believes and his inclinations, I see that as counterproductive to the cause of the poor Gazans.

This is an insanity. The patience and contortions I've seen from these organised campaigners and even people far out on the left, in order to allow the Harris Walz campaign time to do the bare fecking minimum to acknowledge the suffering is saintly. Only for the Democrats to turn around and spit on them and humiliate them in ways that almost feel deliberate at this point. These people are sick.

Realistically though, even if the tapes are real, unless the girls can be proven to be clearly underaged, his base will just shrug it off, they are that sick.

Don’t believe for a second that these tapes are going to be “released”. For a start if they are underage it will constitute publishing of child pornography. If they are not underage then he’s done nothing illegal for his base to get upset about.
If they are going to be handed over to police, it will start a whole chain of investigation into how the person handing them in procured them, why and who they came from right back to source.
The police are then not going to reveal that they have this evidence and that it is trump until he’s been charged and it’s probably outside statute of limitations or some bullshit so he won’t face charges and the evidence will be destroyed.

Agreed. The enthusiasm surge, including among young voters, has blown away the issue except among die-hards. Therefore I think the dnc made an electrically risky but brave choice.
I also think a successful future for Israel, once it has completed its genocide, looks like America, where the genocide is lamented in academic liberal circles and ignored by the rest of the world... So this reaction seemed fitting. Other things are a lot more important!
E - there's two serious polls showing an advantage to Democrats if they are less pro-Israel. But the language used in those polls is already the language used by the party (duplicitously, since their "ceasefire" includes no end to the war and continued Israeli occupation of Gaza.) The current strategy of claiming to work towards a ceasefire, lying that Hamas is the obstacle, and continuing to bomb Gaza, might be good enough.

Desperately needed imo. I hope she mentions this in her remarks. A lot of other initiatives get stalled or killed because of state strangleholds. Will be difficult since Dems will have to have full control for this but worth it.
He's doing everything but endorse. All his supposed criticism of the system and corruption etc. is directed at the Democrats.
Stuff like this is just completely asinine and childlike, but notably he isn't also saying, "Well, Trump has been president before, why didn't he fix things".
Texas will be closer than Florida, and Cruz might actually be in trouble.
I wanted Colin Allred to get more of a little prominent spotlight in DNC somehow to help his national profile get him a bit more spotlight, fundraising. Even though Cruz is very hated its still an uphill battle.

Rogan is definitely a right wing libertarian who will always vote Republican because he likes their policies, but I also get the sense that he thinks Trump is an idiot and backs him reluctantly because he can't stomach Democratic policies.
This is the kind of thing I was talking about, that we've seen some evidence that RFK voters won't necessarily all flock to Trump.
