If there is one positive, hopefully it is that the UK and Europe can become more independent and less reliant on the US, especially via NATO, and take over as the proper “leaders” of the Western world. Maybe if Trump does enough damage it will be a wake up for all the other countries zombie walking further to the Right.

Biden left it too late. Don’t see they could have done much different once it had gotten that far. There was no time for primaries.
It’s not just about money in Ukraine. US intelligence has been absolutely key to Ukraine’s fight. During Trump’s presidency a bunch of key Russian and Saudi intelligence assets were disposed of, it’s really not hard to imagine that Trump will sell out Zelensky the same way.
Major part is also that life might be shit for them but life for the people they hate (mostly immigrants and 'woke' people) will be even worse. They are willing to suffer if the group they dont like will suffer even more.

This Trump administration could very well exceed 4 years. The erosion of women's rights, increase of religion in daily life and probable decline of the economy could force those who don't align themselves, and can afford it, to leave.
Yeah that's true, maybe not so much as a shock but still a surprise, especially the resounding victory it has become.
