Trump leading popular vote thus far. That is surprising. Did not see that against Hillary/Biden.

Awesome

It says 177 to 99 to trump. Does that mean he’s won 177 seats or he’s leading in 177 seats?
Seats called for Turmp. Most likely won. (calls can be wrong)

Polls close from east to west. Middle is largely red. So Trump taking a lead is expected. No major upsets for either side so far..

Yes cause democratic western states haven’t been counted. He will not win the popular vote even if he wins the election.

Well no

I’m very worried

But even if she loses GA and NC and we find out that within next hour. It’ll come down to PA, and no chance we find out that before 4am
We can decently infer from swings. It's already breaking for trump.

Ah okay, as in our results here they typically show the “leading” numbers. In that case, he’s not that far away from taking it.

Apparently Republicans will control the Senate no matter what now?

He has won it, but far from the finishing line.
If he wins any of MI, WI, PA, or outlier VA, then he wins the presidency. Haris needs all four of these states. Trump only needs one.

But he has not won it yet. Too early.

To be fair, does Florida man really need easier access to drugs?
Depends on the drug. Despite Amendment 3 failing, medical marijuana is so easy to get. That, with a black market supported by medical, and the regular black market, it’s available in all forms. Even mushrooms (capsule or honey) are as easy as finding the right Instagram account where shipments come in nice packaging and branding.

It means he has 177 electoral votes of the 270 needed to win. Bear in mind that none of these numbers mean anything outside the context of the 7 key swing states that are actually competitive.

Yeah. if the leads are big enough, and depending on which counties are yet to report, they estimate how its going.. Gets called before all votes are in.
It's a high threshold.. almost certainly means he is winning the ones called for him.

Reason I'm still being a bit optimistic is that the areas the Harris campaign focused on indeed look like they will be the one path to victory. Trump def outperforming in existing and pre existing rural counties in particular but that's not entirely surprising to me given how the Rs railed against early and absentee voting last time around and probably gave up a lot of votes with it.

So I'm guessing they are called "swing states" because they tend to swing back and forth as to who the majority vote for in recent elections?

Which is huge right given she’s sat on a paltry 99? Or have they been calling only typically red states? How are the swing states going so far - I read that he’s leading in all.

Spot on. They swing either way depending on how well the candidates do in campaigns. For example, Trump won Georgia in 2016, then Biden won it in 2020, and it looks like Trump will win it again this year. Same with Arizona.

Makes sense. Thanks

How many elecoral votes they have at the moment is not important because states likes California, Illinois, Washington, Oregon, Minnesota, and several others are automatically Dem states. The only ones that merit paying attention to are the 7 swing states, since we mostly don't know who will win them.

Real chance Harris doesn't even win the popular vote.

America

And if that happens I'll sit back and laugh at the whatever happens.
That’s what my friend said - that it’ll be hilarious if it happens and that the US deserve it

Personally, while it will be entertaining, vile abhorrent people like Trump and his administration winning this is bad for the world at large and a huge win for the extemist right wing politics and values, everywhere. It’s more important than people (outside the US) think.

NYT needle page showing Harris projected to be ahead of Trump by just 0.4% for the Popular vote.
Isn't that low? I thought Dems get a lot more votes.
