Why is there a freeloader on every boat in the rowing?

Edit: Look at that cnut celebrating as if he contributed anything.

At least we had a cute little blonde girl .

It’s funny that the cox in the women’s eight is a bloke. No reason why they shouldn’t be, I guess. Nobody tell Joanne though..

Was thinking the same
What is the point of a cox in rowing?

What is a cox box? And why is the stroke seat so important ...

The cox is the only person on a boat during a race who doesn't hold an oar. Although it may look as through they simply shout encouragement to the rest of the crew, a cox also has to steer the boat by guiding the ship's rudder, keep motivation as high as possible and also offer feedback after the race.

Rowing female commentator on BBC was so good, the one on Eurosport has been so poor.
The BBC pundits and commentary are some best out there, just a shame with what's happened with the coverage rights over the years.

They're(the cox?) basically there to shout abuse at the rowers

Had the cycling on mute while the rowing finished, why did a load of them pull to the side and look to stop? Were they pacemakers or something?

British guy refusing to accept the red card
GB is going to appeal and if they win he gets to run. So he was arguing to just let him run now anyways

Basically, judges were being needlessly rigid

Thompson just run a 10.00 only pushing the first 50 meters. Impressive

It looks like he was trying to run under protest and they weren't allowing him. That's a bit weird, although it was obviously a false start.

The 0.1 second reaction time seems a pretty arbitrary threshold for judging false starts. Would have thought you’d be automatically allowed to run under protest when you’re so close to that cut-off point. Azu was just 0.03 seconds under that cut-off point.
