Thiam to make it 4 in a row at LA in 2028.
No worries! They're very low key about how good they are.@JPRouve @Carolina Red @MDFC Manager my apologies I stand corrected. Just don’t seem to remember many golds from them before.
Yes it was. He did such a great job stopping Higuchi's single leg, which is honestly the best in the world. Can't believe he got put on his back.Sorry for that - it was really close
Anna Hall helped this by dragging everyone along with her.The 800m times in the pentathalon have been slashed. 3 years ago best time was 2:07 and Thiam ran 2:16. This year best time was 2:04 and Thiam ran 2:10. Knocking 6 seconds off your PB is some good going.
I am in tears - such a warrior and a true gentleman with a massive heart. Thank you for your messages.@Darkhorsez - I can't believe this. Yazdani did everything he could there. Awful awful awful luck having an injury like that at a moment like that.
He went out like a warrior though. Wrestling with what, by all appearances, is a dislocated shoulder is some absurd level of physical and mental toughness.
Woman? She looks about 12.Women's Break dancing more fun this evening. I like this Nicka woman from Lithuania.
Three in a row is incredible, she's only the second athlete in history, after Włodarczyk in hammer throw, to achieve that at the Olympics. And she's quite young still, who knows if she can go for the fourth in LA!Three in a row for Thiam, simply our nation's greatest Olympian ever. We're lucky to have her. KJT pushed her pretty hard, would've been a worthy champion herself.
And bronze for Vidts, brilliant for her as well.
we've got football for that, let's cherish the rare moments of Olympic spirit. Opponents cheered on Duplantis when he went for the WR, you see it quite often here, it's very cool and beautiful that Olympics are full of such momentsAlso why do they cheer on each other? Surely they should be hurling abuse and discouraging their opponent.
That is a big difference, but if KJT had got close to her pb in 200m she would have got another 65 points. She only lost gold by 36 points.Thiam is too good and the better all round athlete. Six seconds is a big gap, but a 9m throw difference is massive.

Sorry, I should've added only the second women athlete in track and fields. Obviously you've had men with such feat, like Bolt.Only the second athlete? Is that for field events?

They are hardly opponents. More like opening acts at his show.we've got football for that, let's cherish the rare moments of Olympic spirit. Opponents cheered on Duplantis when he went for the WR, you see it quite often here, it's very cool and beautiful that Olympics are full of such moments

17 apparently - she'd be approaching retirement age in women's skateboarding.Woman? She looks about 12.

Thank you - yes very proud of him. That injury basically happened in the first few seconds but he fought on.He did very well under these circumstances, he can be proud of himself.
To be fair... Duplantis is also actually an American. Born and raised in Louisiana. Kendricks was cheering on one of our own. They are hardly opponents. More like opening acts at his show.
If there were two equal athletes gunning for the WR they wouldn't be cheering each other on.
One of the runners passed out?
Queen Helen!!!Well done Maroulis, that was quick.

From all accounts KJT has had a tough season. She’s performed fantastically to even get that close all things considered. Shame that she always seemed to be a little compromised with injuries, but I won’t lose any sleep considering she’s a scouserIt’s pointless looking at it like that. KJT’s 200m PB time was in 2016, aged 23. She hasn’t got anywhere near that time since her serious injury a few years ago. Same with long jump and hurdles really - she’s clearly not going to do 6.9 or 13.0 now.
She set new PBs at shot putt and 800m and was better or relatively close to her scores from the worlds last year in every other event. It’s her second best ever score so far as I can see at age 31, despite the obvious slight loss of top sprinting speed mentioned above.

And the third placed Italian is also Spanish speaking, so.Triple jump is an Iberian matter - Spain gold, Portugal silver
