2020 US Elections | Biden certified as President | Dems control Congress

Trump has huge unfavourables. That is what the Dems are banking on.
He will run on immigration which can be the deal breaker.
If there are not enough policies, people may just stay home.

That is the danger for the Dems.

I'd be shocked of this wasn't one of the most attended elections ever. Policies might make a difference for those on the far left of American politics (so not that far left, but I digress), but this is going to be about Trump, who is highly unpopular.

The GOP and media have successfully painted the Dems as Marxist commies. A lot of independents will stay at home.

So do we start to worry about Warren’s “electability” (gah) now?

I have no idea about turnout projections just yet but I actually agree with a lot of the rest of what you said. A lot of people don’t really care about policy which I find frustrating. I think it’s natural in America that it be the left who cares the most about policy because America’s ills are pretty much all products of right wing ideology. Once you start to focus on that it’s tough not to move at least centre left as that’s where the solutions lie. That’s why people who like Biden and Clinton never really talk about their vision actually being the best for society, it’s all about pragmatism and “what can be done.”

On the flip side of course you have the cnuts who care about policy so they can keep lining their pockets.

The corporate dems care about identity politics, their donors, symbolism/optics and ultimately being in power. Trump upsets that apple cart (well, except the donors) so sadly I think a lot of people will go to the polls to vote against him. I can’t really criticise too much as I voted for someone I can’t stand in the 2016 general because she was running against Trump.

Such a shame. As Florida now looks solid red.
Lots of rednecks, rich golfers, and conservative types over here. Also Florida isn't suffering like the other battleground states in terms of jobs and opioid crisis. So even some moderates who only care about their own livelihood are going to see the economy working well for them and vote in Trump as a continuation of that.

i'll take your Mayor Pete and rise you Kamala....

Both are cringeworthy but at Kamala’s has some relevancy to culture with the drumline and all. The Buttigieg one is just pathetic and sad. They seem like the kind of people where you could make out with their girlfriend in front of them and they wouldn’t do anything to you.

Did you instinctively want to call someone a ****, but then didn't want to say the actual word due to the overuse by alt-right types?

She would probably fall victim to gender discrimination, which unfortunately has not been blunted yet.

I personally think Sanders is a better choice than Warren herself but what you say is right. Unfortunate though. At least, Sanders or Warren will answer the 'should I convince the left' or 'should I convince the middle' argument.
