2018 US Elections

Trump bump?

I think it’s more so a reversion to the mean after frightened Rs have started dumping a lot of money into TX out of fear Cruz may lose. The negative ads against Beto were bound to have some degree of effects.

Avoiding a ‘constitutional crisis’.
Blatant voter suppression by the then Governor of Florida - Jeb Bush.
Many didn’t accept it, but eventually had to relent after Gore conceded following the SC ruling. Then 9/11 happened and the question about the Dubya presidency’s legitimacy got swept under the rug in a wave of patriotism.
You mention it before, so genuinely curious to know what Jebb did. Care to explain a bit (or post a link to some decent article)?

have looked again at the 9 toss up Senate seats.

I think the Dems can win 6 of em with a bit of wind in their backs.

I did not place a lot of faith in TX and ND.

But MO is a bit worrying.

I'm only tracking about 6 toss ups

AZ, NV, TN, MO, FL, and ND

WV, MN, and IN are safe Dem imo.

The Dems can still scrape by and take the Senate by losing ND .... if they win AZ, NV, TN and hold serve in MO and FL. I don't think McCaskill is doing very well which leads me to believe the Dems will fall short.

Poll of the week: A new Quinnipiac University poll finds that among women Democrats are leading on the generic congressional ballot by a 58% to 33%, a 25-point margin. Republicans, though, lead among men 50% to 42%, an 8-point margin.
That large gap between how women and men say they will vote in the midterm election is consistent with an average of live interview polls taken since June. The gender difference in the average is 26 points.

Yup.

MO has been trending GOP.

Just imagine that lobotomized Evanglical dickhead Pence deciding key votes.

argggg.

I would love for Pence to have some scandal erupt, like what happened to Jim Swaggart and Ted Haggard. But unfortunately I think this guy actually believes what he claims, unlike those other charlatans.

tell you what. If Trump is going to go down he wont go down alone.

He is a nasty little shit. I bet he has something on Pence.

That is why the Dems should be careful not to feck up this November.

The Rewards may be even more than they expect.

Numbers are all over the map on this one

The Quinnipiac model is on likely voters. How they screened it would affect the outcome a fair bit since many of BOR's voters would be first time or inactive in previous cycles.

Average is still a good rule of thumb. Lyin' Ted probably leads by 2-3 points.

Agreed. I think Beto is behind by a few and turnout will inform whether or not he can sneak an improbable win on election day.

I really think all this momentum is too soon. It's so hard to keep it going, especially if you think about it in context: in the past 2 weeks the President's lawyer plead guilty, the head of his presidential campaign plead guilty, his supreme court nominee got embattled because he might have assaulted a teenager and his meagre manhood was exposed to all.

Despite alllll that, it's still almost impossible for the dems to take the Senate.

As bad as Trump is, I can't see him having another month like the last one, and the GOP have been so impressive at rigging the system the proverbial blue wave required just isn't going to be high enough.

If I were the GOP I'd tell Trump the month of October is historically 'President plays golf everyday without his phone month'.

I think we have been saying this every month for almost the last 2 years though.

And, I do think that a bit of momentum is good. Better than having none at this moment. IMO, senate is a toss up.

Wonder if Beto will go low. Find it hard to imagine some right leaning folks in Texas won't be swayed away from Cruz if Beto reminds everyone what a sniveling coward Cruz was in the presidential election and how much he has kissed ass since then. Texas tough he is not.

I can't imagine he will. His entire political brand has been built on being positive. Cruz on the other hand will spend his entire time going after Beto's arrest, drug use, rock star past life etc.

Oh! Didn't realize this was a thing. Maybe I'll have to watch in bed, though I'm sure Cruz will just piss me off.

Is it just me or does Beto look a little bit like a young John Kerry in that picture?

Definitely.
