I won't and can't defend a lot of the stupid things he has said. But the whole 'tax evasion' claim amuses me. As if any of us go out of our way to pay more than we have to, especially the way our government tends to waste it. He's paid a ton of payroll taxes, corporate taxes, etc. Anyone in their right mind uses every tool available to only pay what they legally must. If he hadn't, with the media over here, believe me we would know all about it. Instead the woman on the other side makes her money from the taxpayers. That's where she's earned her paycheck for the last 30+ years...when she's not making millions behind closed doors speaking to Wall Street bankers of course, you know, the ones she like to publicly demonize. This is also a woman who's 'Foundation' receives millions in payments from foreign governments who openly persecute gays and other minorities....talk about 'homophobic'.
Claiming we'd all do it if we could isn't a valid defence. Just look at the MP scandals over here. People care about it, it's a valid issue for the voters. Paying less than you should, but making everybody else pay what you do not is not fitting with the best your country has to offer. People running for office are held to a higher standard than you or I and so it doesn't matter if you also want to shaft everybody else by not paying your share. If I stop paying some taxes and then tell HMRC that it's okay because I've paid a load of other taxes in my life, they won't let me off. It's a bullshit argument.

Anyway isn't this down to timing of evidence and how long all this tends to get reviewed and sorted in? I read that it takes a substantial amount of time for various agencies to vet the emails for any information that would be deemed classified so it's not an easy or quick process.
There's protocol that has to be adhered to regardless of it being unfair to Hillary or an advantage to Trump. It seems to be a really slow undertaking at the best of times.
Maybe I'm wrong but these procedures shouldn't be altered to suit individual circumstances.
I can't believe with all the wikileaks emails and videos that Hillary is still running and not being re-investigated. They pay what they're supposed to. We know this because they've released their tax returns showing that they're being fair. That sentence just shows you don't have a full grasp of the facts. He's not broken any laws, just used them to the max. The others haven't because politicians are held to a higher standard so they follow.
For most of us here, we don't really care about his tax returns. Good, bad, indifferent, only those that are partisan either way really care. We've also never had an active candidate currently under an FBI investigation, or a current President openly campaigning for one.

You've been a main forum member for a week, you should really wait until you have the first clue what you're talking about before casting aspersions on the way the place is run. Minority views are not ignored or suppressed, and you're perfectly entitled to your opinions but you also must be willing to accept disagreements and be able to back up your positions with something more than the ridiculous notion that you are better informed by default just because you live in the US.
I've lived in the US, I have family and friends who still do, and there are several people in this thread who also live in the US. It's all irrelevant. You are not some lone voice of truth just because of where you live, and others are not less informed just because they're not resident in the US.

The initial mistake is the problem though; they still don't know what's even in the emails let alone whether they're relevant or incriminating. Announcing that further evidence has been discovered, especially in the manner he did, without even first ascertaining whether it was actually evidence, was irresponsible in the extreme and if doing knowing it'd affect the election then also illegal.

Imagine how the Republicans must be feeling. Even a Trump who gently pivoted after the primaries would have had a good chance of beating her. All he had to do was act sane and let Wikileaks and her email server dominate the news cycle.

Mika on Morning Joe said the same this morning. The primary voters have picked their candidates and both are now thinking "wtf have we done?" Had they gone with Biden/Warren is a whole different matter. Neither ran. They were not an option.

To be fair it's not like they didn't have enough choice this year. They had more choice than ever before I think, but the Republicans went with Trump. I think the press are mainly at fault for Trump, and there were 18 other candidates on the Republican side, he just shouted louder and sounded better and of course the press loved him because of what he was saying. They must have known what they were creating though, and that is inexcusable because anyone even remotely intelligent could see what an absolute monster Trump is.
And on the other side, the Democrats had in my opinion the best candidate I have seen in my lifetime, someone who I truly believed in, and one that connected with millions of Americans. The trouble is the Dems didn't want him and did their best to stop him, the Republicans didn't want him and the Press didn't either, and if he had won the Democratic nomination I think he would have spit the country as much as Trump has. America might have been ready for a black President, they may actually be ready for a woman President, there's no fecking way they are ready for a Socialist President.
