2016 US Presidential Elections | Trump Wins

If they think he was trying to influence things he could be in big trouble, no?

To be fair he didn't do anything wrong other than violate a long standing prosecutorial custom of not announcing information within 60 days of an election, when the information could sway the election. He was under so much pressure that he presumed that staying silent would haunt him later, which it may well have. On the other hand, he is feeling the heat now so if he had a do over, I'm guessing he would not say anything, especially since the results of what he is now looking into, wont be adjudicated until after the election.

I thought I saw something posted last night saying that attempts to influence the outcome could be charged?

omg you so cool mayne!!!!11

You're odd.

He was completely within his purview of FBI Director of doing it, the only question is that it was somewhat unprecedented and a departure from previous custom of not doing it within 60 days. Hillary, during her brief speech, was obviously fuming that he did it and obviously the Trump fans were gleefully exuberant.

Trump fans certainly were from what I noticed on FB last night. Nonsense posts about "reopening" and when corrected these loons just spout nonsense heard from far right talking points. No one cares about facts these days. That goes for both sides of the political spectrum.

This should be worth an infraction for text speak.

Look, I'm all for grown-up debate and a mature sharing of opinions, discussion etc....but to just try and act cool by some childish antics like this (yes, they both do it and I detest, but let's be adults about it on here atleast rather than do exactly the same as them and laugh at them when they do), just winds me up tbh.

It was this that I'd seen:

This is pretty much in line with Gary Johnson's Aleppo flub.

To be fair, it's been known Trump's clueless on foreign policy for a while now. He didn't seem to have any idea about Russia/Ukraine and Crimea when asked, for example.

Will be interesting if that will be the final "bombshell" of this campaign or whether we will get another one next week.

I suspect the latter.

Got my voter ID card in the mail. Gonna turn Oklahoma blue! Actually, just a lighter shade of red.

Really though, it won't matter...

Mindless drivel about Aleppo in the debates too.

Even his whole schtick about ISIS seems a bit over the top. Serious problem, yes, but they're arguably much weaker than they previously have been and Islamic terrorism is hardly some new, fresh problem that's popped up in the past year or so.

Sneak attack!

At least he knows where Aleppo is...

His "why did we tell them we were coming??" nonsense is the height of risible. He makes it sound like it's a police raid on a semi-detached house.

At this point I don't understand if it was sheer stupidity or just bad decision making on part of the FBI director to come up with that weak crap less than two weeks before a general election. Surely I can't think of any possible motive for an investigative agency to want to see Trump elected. He would end up emasculating and throwing them under the bus on every serious issue.

Yeah he is in a damned if he did, damned if he didn't situation. Should have sought some advice if he didn't already.

Funny how the trumpettes go from hating him to loving him in the matter of 24 hrs.

A million people in Ohio reportedly didn't get their mail ballots sent to them, as decided by the republicans who run the state. Good chance that's enough to swing the state for Trump.

How is this shit allowed to go on?

Every time its the same shit, the GOP seeks to stop large numbers of people from voting. This is the genuine, non hysterical, non conspiratorial actual rigging that goes on every time the US holds an election and nothing is done about it.

Never underestimate the power of spite and how it can lop off your own nose.
