Obama and Michelle are certainly the most likable pretty much ever (in my lifetime)

But he has barely left any legacy or impact at all. History will show him up as being a very weak president

Weak?? The republicans hounded him at every step..he inherited two wars and an economic collapse what was he supposed to do?

Well we all know they are both corrupted and have many flaws, but at least Clinton is much more knowledgable and presentable.

It's one of this cases were the legacy will overshine the presidency more likely. He got Affordable Care working, he somewhat repaired the transatlantic relationsship and apart from Syria, avoided major mistakes.

These things are a mess and a waste of time imo.
I thought Trump did well since we were all expecting a massacre so the fact Clinton let him off the hook and was average herself tilted the night towards Trump.
However today was always going to be 'Mock Trump day'so it didn't matter how he handled last night. He's an idiot and a buffon but he could have cancer during last nights debate and we would still be mocking him for the way he had his hands in his pockets.
Complete waste of time.

Not sure what you're saying... do you mean we shouldn't mock a buffoon who's one step away from the most powerful job in the world? Someone who clearly does not know anything he's talking about (see the Aleppo moment)? I think it deserves mocking.

That is specacular  With this, the other guy in the audience "who's just become a decided voter" tweet and with his creepy stalking of her, he totally lost the optics of the debate last night. Not to mention his smug git face interrupting - the worst of which is when he was just waiting to interrupt her, holding the mic up to his face for about 30 seconds!
A female American communication advisor compared him stalking to a roaming bear on stage.

Good to hear, was concerned it was going to get lost in the rest of the madness, but he basically reverted to fascism 101 there.
I think it was Gloria who kept coming back on this, comparing him to dictators like Stalin. Kudos to her.

You kind of make my point for me. What would it have took for you to have praised anything Trump could have said last night?
They might as well have held last nights debate on Broadway or the local zoo.
I despise Trump but I thought he handled last night as well as anybody could have. People may as well have pre written their views since nothing that happened last night had any meaning to their campaigns and nothing would have stopped the 'Mock the idiot' tirade that ensued.
Hillary might as well not show up to these things. Her role is meaninglessness

I said last night at quite a few points that I thought it was a dead heat. Does that answer your question? I don't see why there should be any excuse for him not being held accountable.

Still to see this debate but if it was indeed a 'draw' then that's good for Clinton given Trump has over recent weeks alienated a lot of the people he needs to be winning over. Seriously though, the Republican party should be withdrawing him. It's disgraceful that you have a candidate with his set of "values" with supposedly a 42% share of the public's potential votes.

Also, I fully expect him to go even more batshit crazy when he does lose the elections. can you imagine this nutter who keeps rattling on about winning/success handle losing the most public/intense/observed race possibly ever? I think I'll start following him on twitter around then

Does anyone think Hillary will be a two term president? I think the best case scenario for the Dems is one Clinton term and then Michelle to run in 2020. Would be very weird having Clinton, Clinton, Bush, Bush, Obama, Obama, Clinton, Obama, but I think Michelle is easily the best candidate. Not sure if she has any substance whatsoever, but from a political perspective, she's very good at talking. That's about enough, I think.

Maybe Obama/Warren? That would be the dream ticket.

Clinton at least answered the questions and provided some solutions. Trump just wants to attack Clinton at every opportunity, he really is a poor candidate.

Michelle hates the white house and politics (and who can blame her?) she won't be running at all, I think she's made it clear on a few occasions.

I'm not so sure. I think she's become more politically active of late.

Clinton can win in 2020 if the economy's going well, there aren't any major scandals, she doesn't get primaried and the GOP are still a disgrace. Certainly plenty of ifs there but they're not implausible ones.

Surely there has never been two worst candidates than these two

I’m a cnut though and would take Trump over Hilary, just to see what would happen
Well aren't you lucky you don't live here raising children to have respect for other people. I'm glad you are amused.

Trump has to get Clinton's character to break. Trump can't win this on policies while Hillary wants to keep her inner dealings as hidden as possible.

I thought Farage was aghast at the thought of foreigners meddling in our politics. What's he doing in America?
Odious prick.

Neither of the two parties have succeeded in electing a president when their incumbent steps down after one term since McKinley iirc(death/assasination notwithstanding). If Clinton doesn't suck, she will have a fairly big advantage going into reelection. If she's mired in scandals without any achievement or the economy tanks then Dems are fecked in 2020 anyway.

It's simply too early to tell. 4 years is an eternity in politics. Papi Bush had 89% approval rating in 91 and by the time he lost in 92 it was 29%.

Couldn't agree more but it's seriously disturbing that such a scumbag still holds on to about 40% of the votes!

Problem with politics in the US is that a cabbage could run for either party and 30-40% of the voting public would side strictly due to ideology/toeing the party line.

In this instance we have a deranged lunatic as the GOP nominee which is worse than a happy cabbage.

I beg to differ. He handled the debate poorly. He wasn't able to articulate one clear sentence, not one coherent answer. He told lie after lie. He made false and/or misleading claims. He contradicted himself within less than 2 minutes. He was clueless on any topic, whether it was Obamacare, Syria, how political decisions are made and how political powers are distriuted. He was completely clueless anytime he was requested to come up with a plan or a strategy to fix or address any issue. He was hypocritcal. He sniffed. He interrupted her. He stalked her. He did not apologize for his behavior. He embraced Russia/Putin. He ridiculed his VP. And so on and so on.
The only thing I'll give him is that he didn't im- or explode. But my bar for a presidential candidate is higher. That a candidate brings up things like Hillary's e-mail scandal or Billy Boy's cheating is nothing I give him credit for because a grammar school kid would be able to do that.

How does Kamala Harris usually come across? I know she's not even been elected to the Senate yet but I always hear her mentioned as one to watch.

I can't think of a 2nd Hillary term, provided she'll get the 1st one (which I'm not entirely confident about). Michelle would be great but I assume that it's too much for the majority of Americans to handle: Female, black, Dem, political dynasty.

Not to mention before your first two Clintons it was a Bush.
