2016 US Presidential Elections | Trump Wins

Anyone who has followed politics in the US knows about the right wing machine and their pursuit of bringing down the Clintons over the years. There is nothing new here - just recycled material that has already been discussed ad nauseum during previous election cycles.

Remember all those conspiracy theories about Vince Foster's death?

Wow...Hugh Hewitt really laying down a gloomy picture on MSNBC right now.

1. Trump may quit as the walls close in after the debate.

2. If Trump doesn't he expects Pence to step down at some point.

3. More tawdry videos are apparently on their way.

Rumors that KellyAnne may quit.

Yeah, she can't stay. After rumours of her falling out with the Trumps spawn, especially Ivanka who is the devil in sheeps clothing, and now after these comments I feel her position is untenable. She has been struggling for weeks to defuse things on TV. All her interviews are her defending and deflecting which is completely NOT what she wanted. She made it clear when she took over that she wanted to run on a clean platform. A new slate so to speak, she wanted to avoid any instances of Trump being Trump and wanted him to keep out of the media and only appear Presidential and ONLY to Tweet and talk about policy OR to attack Hillary. That was her game plan, but it was fecked from the beginning because it relied heavily on Trump NOT being Trump. Obviously that was doomed to failure from the start.

She should cut her losses and run, she tried but failed, no biggie, lots of others did the same before her and she can still salvage her career as at the moment there are lots and lots of Republicans in severe need of a good campaign manager and spokesperson. The longer she stays around Trump's toxic brand, the more damage she does, and I am completely sure, she is holding her nose whenever she is in his vicinity or that of his spawns too.

EDIT! Or she should just leave to start writing her book! She will make a fortune!

Read his texts. That is not his mood at all. He's all for turning on anyone who has distanced themselves from him. He's not going to be genuinely apologetic at all.

Oddly, some people found his video apology sincere like Sarah C in Georgia.

--(Sarah) I found his apology to be quite sincere.
(a friend of Sarah) I also found the apology to be sincere. Let's see Hillary apologize for the stuff she's done? I I forgot ....rules, laws and apologies are only for little people and not for the political protected elite like Hillary.

Reading up on all the permutations that could happen if he does actually drop out. So many possibilities and so many potential legal pitfalls with zero precedent to guide any rulings.

I suppose the only upside is it would probably never get to that stage because the Deplorables would probably abandon the GOP without Trump.

If he stays in, he will lose according to every polling forecast. He is at about 40-42% (pre-pussygate) and can't gain voters anymore since a vast majority are already decided and early voting has already begun in various places.

If he drops out, the GOP will still be fecked since (as mentioned above) early voting has already started and Trump's name is already on the ballot so anyone who has already voted for him will not be able to vote for whoever replaces him.

If Pence drops out, then that will once again affect the voting, ballots, early votes etc.

In each scenario, they are massively fecked.

Trump is going to be untouchable after this. Who on earth will put him on TV now? A man that thrives on adulation will become anonymous.

In some states, early ballots can transfer to the replacement candidate regardless of the wrong name being on it. Also the three states that are "locked in" are not locked in if every single Electoral College representative decides not to be bound, which would mean replacements too if they were replaced. Far-fetched for sure, but totally without precedent.

Tapper is fuming. Giuliani seems have regained his composure a little though compared to the video from earlier. Still doesn't make any difference, given that what he's saying is reprehensible tosh :D
Giuliani should distance himself from this. Standing up on Television and trying to defend the indefensible will only tarnish his own reputation. There is no way you can defend a man who admitted he gets away with groping women because he's famous.

MSNBC is on the ball this morning - basically the entire GOP is in a wait and see pattern to see what happens at the debate. Pence is seriously considering pulling out (debate results pending) and Trump is digging his heels in.

Dropping Trump is the only way the RNC can save a lot of downticket races. They face losing bigly in the house and senate if this keeps up.

He's too far gone. He's a casualty of all of this mess and only have himself to blame, massively.

True. Clinton hate may be enough to drive them to the polls. He's toxic with the saner ones.

Still, if what Ubik posted gains traction, it's lose-lose either way.

They are fecked either way. If they drop Trump, the enraged Trump fans who are going to the polls to vote for him will stay home and not vote for the downballot people. The only way the GOP can proceed is to stick with Trump and hope his voter enthusiasm spills over into downballot races - although the downside to that is the the Dems will skewer all the GOP downballot candidates for being in the Trump camp. Either way they are fecked.

Hard to be enthused to go and vote with Trump as your man.

Yip, this is what I'd hope for if it does go down, with the question of all of those permutations never being raised.

It would be a shame if Trump would quit. Hopefully the Dems have planned for this scenario.

I dunno about you lot but this debate has me more stoked than a Cup Final. I might even go to a pub and watch it.

It's 5 a.m here and I'm about to go grab breakfast and a pack of beer before getting a few hours sleep. Already tweaked my work roster since 2 weeks ago to have the day off.

Feck, that sounds sad :(

Less than a month before the election and the fitness of the republican candidate for office is still being debated.

Unbelievable Jeff!
