Kaine must be ditching his debate prep and celebrating with his harmonica now. Just bring that up in the debate and watch Pence twisting himself into a Pretzel.

The GOP doesn't seem to realize this is not the 80s/early 90s anymore.

So much for the October surprise. He actually said that the accusation of him trying to harm Hillary was false. But he does have three books coming out

Just the #octobersurprise hashtag. Schadenfreude to your hearts content :D
Danke

There's going to be a massive influx of Deplorables returning torches and pitchforks to Walmart this afternoon. #octobersurprise

"Oh yeah, I used the tax laws when it suited me while slamming other people who did the same, but, uh I promise I want to change it now"

It'd be more suprising and ridiculous if he hadnt legally avoid taxes really. Whilst i have nothing but hate for him and all the other super rich tax dodgers, this isn't one of his more outlandish statements as it is the laws that need changing.

This whole tax stuff boggles my mind. Like how can Trump still be super wealthy if he's lost all these projects and filed for numerous bankruptcies? Do the megarich never pay up?

Not defending him nor saying any of this is in the right.

When you set up all these projects as seperate businesses you can protect your other businesses and personal assets from being taken should anything go wrong.

Then if the business emerges from bankruptcy much of the debt is forgiven or restructured so the business then ends up paying far less.

Basically you can have a business go bankrupt without having to go personally bankrupt.

Sure, but he ridiculed others on twitter all the time who had done exactly what he has done.

Technically Trump had business operations that he

Yeah, but in terms of what the common voter would understand, if your business went bankrupt any time (or any six times), it's a bit rich to say you never went bankrupt, even if that is technically true on a personal level. Saying it like that, washing his hands of them, then by extension surely he should also wash his hands of any successes the businesses had. Can't have it one way but not the other way.

I predict it's going to be a source of gold all day :D

Watching on Twitter now as Trump people who stayed up all night foam at the mouth
Bet they probably agree on the droning now.

Another day, another bunch of people realise Assange enjoys lying for attention. Annoys me greatly that he's only 60 miles away.

I imagine it was probably chapter 11 bankruptcy though - which is more to restructure a business rather than what a typical bankruptcy is in the UK - not saying that makes it a whole lot better - just that its probably a complex enough piture to be spun multiple ways (which is what I think will happen)

Trump's account suspiciously quiet on the ol' polls front now, I wonder why that could be...
http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/da...holds-national-lead-over-donald-trump-n658721
As the campaign heads into the final stretch, Hillary Clinton holds a 46 percent to 40 percent lead over Donald Trump, according to latest NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll. Libertarian Gary Johnson is down slightly from last week with 9 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein holds steady with 3 percent.

The poll was conducted online September 26 through October 2, 2016 among likely voters.

In the two-way general-election match-up, Clinton leads Trump by 6 points, 50 percent to 44 percent. The margin is virtually unchanged from last week.

Hillary leads Trump 67% to 18% among never-married women :D

Surely though, to anyone with a modicum of sway in them not beholden to ironclad bias, that kind of spin will come off as total fluff. His businesses had massive difficulties.

yeah - but lets be honest most people have made up their minds
to some he is somebody worth several billion dollars who used sharp accounting practices to mitigate taxes as he was legally obliged to do so - to others he is s cnut
If you go back over my contributions you will see I am in the latter camp
I still think he is just going to go full on crooked hillary cant even keep her man happy let alone a whole nation in the next debate and the polls are going to tighten up - I just hope most Americans are not as thick and shallow as the stereotypes suggest

Probably. He'll get desperate and take a swing. I think the risk increases every time he does though that he says something totally beyond the pale, because he just doesn't have a filter. And, I would imagine that Clinton's team are busy concocting ways that they can make him say something over the edge.

r/The_Donald is a hoot to read today

Re: polling. Live polls have consistently shown bigger swings this cycle than the online/tracking ones. I wonder if NBC/WSJ reflects that in comparison to the NBC/SurveyMonkey just came out. However, it's pretty safe to say from all the data thus far Drumpf's ceiling = Clinton's floor i.e low 40s, so as long as the latter avoid gaffes and put the spotlight firmly on him, it's unlikely her soft support will defect and send the race into a toss up.

Also, NE-2 is close. Omaha may deliver this year.

I dont know about that - I think Clinton is unpopular enough that he can get away with pretty much anything he says as long as its aimed squarely as a personal insult against her

Really? I've just thought about it for a minute and have one or two things that he could descend to that would make most people baulk :D

try them out on here - because honestly I cant think of anything (if it was a personal insult - and the broadcasters would broadcast it) that would cause him more harm than good

Ok, how about this - they goad him into calling vets who commit suicide losers. Probably easily done. How about twisting him into a knot about his Russian connections and getting him to boastfully admit something there? Or goad him with the things he says about Ivanka, and he comes back with something lewd about Bill and Chelsea. I think it's not beyond probability that he can be pushed into saying something that will make people ill.

as I said if he keeps insults personal and directly aimed at hillary - if he does that I do not think he can go to far... obviousley amything aimed at women or at a certain demographic of society will get pounced on... but directly aimed at Hillary then I dont think he can go too far

Behold, the wisdom of the average Drumpfkin

Dude, haven't we tought you anything? Never trust the media, even if it's Alex Jones. Do your own research!

Did you really think Assange would hype up his leaks on every channel and then release them in the middle of the night, only telling Alex Jones, after writing on twitter and facebook his press event would just be about "the past and future of wikileaks"?

How about, "You want a president this ugly? She's a 2. Give me a break"

I can see whoopin and a hollerin from 40% of the audience - stoney faced silence from 40% and 20% sniggering / thinking well at least he has got the balls to say it - win for trump... i dont think he would even give her a 2 though

I think if we pool the collective power of the Caf brain trust, we could think up an insult that he wouldn't get away with :D

I don't think anybody would bat on an eye. He's already called Carly Fiorina ugly.

To be honest, I'm absolutely amazed sometimes at some of the people who have been voted into office. (Ed Rendell - Hillary supporter saying why Trump will suffer because of his remarks about women. Talk about foot in mouth).

He's down about 20 points on women. That seems like plenty of suffering to me.
