But what can Reince Preibus do about the voting population and the 17 other dunderheads who lost against Trump? He's the head of RNC, not the Voting public.

Not bending over backwards to the Donald with the farcical stuffs like 'loyalty pledge' would be a start.

Most GOP candidates this cycle are/were very critical of his platitudes towards the Dumpster. I think Politico had a quite long piece about it. Maybe just sore losers, mind.

 It's almost like some people forget that she's actually published her returns.

So what's your point? That Trump is literally a thousand times worse than the Clintons?
No I think the real reason why he's not showing his taxes has nothing to do with that, besides the fact he lost a lot of money shows he's not that good as he's claiming but then in 95 a lot people lost a lot of money and he would be stupid not carry over the losses to the following years, something else he doesn't want people to see and must be donations or a real low salary.

They will lose 3 straight elections if Trump loses and there is a train of thought within the Republican party that none of their core candidate could even get a sniff of the ticket in the primaries with the top 3 being Trump, Cruz and Carson for the most part. That party that needs change one way or another and it starts from the top.
The GOP wants Trump to lose because if he wins then they will have to support him again in 2020 and by then the DNC would have a proper candidate, they know if Hillary wins then in 2020 they will win.

I somewhat agree. Dislike the Republican Party but I can only see Clinton being a one term president.

Me too, I think she's just going to be interim until Warren runs in 2020. I think Liz just has to run, she's amazing and the way she took down the Wells Fargo execs last week was one of the best things I have seen all year. If she brought that energy to the Presidential race then it's hard to see past her in 4 years time.

Frankly, after seeing what being president has done to people over the years, I wouldn't expect Hillary to survive a full term.

The Dems probably can run Hitler in 2020 and still win. It's going to take a bad recession for their electoral advantage to crumble. 18 states + DC that have gone Dem since 92 = 242 EVs. Virginia, Colorado are turning safe blue and thats already 269 EVs. The worst case scenario is a tie.

Clinton most likely won't fancy another grueling campaign though.

What you do with your AR-15 is up to you mate. I just wouldn't broadcast is over the net ;)

 it's Chinese made, I wouldn't be able to import it into the US! Anyway, as my post clearly inferred, the stress of the office stands a good chance of doing her in.

I'd be shocked if Hillary got voted out by her own party after 4 years. Now if Hillary decides not to run after one term or something unfortunate happens and she can not run, that is another story. Well the other option would be for Hillary having screwed up so badly even the Dems want her out.

I know mate. I also agree, just look at how much Obama has aged. And seriously, the world is in a frightening state at the moment, probably the most volatile for years, so it needs strong and sensible leadership. I can see the next decade being incredibly demanding on any world leader.

I'm with Dwazza on this one, I can't see her handling 8 years in charge. I should imagine she will hand it over after 4 years. I think it's the sensible option for her anyway.

I watched a documentary on the rise of ISIS on Monday night. It showed a clip from Obama's inauguration. I nearly shat myself. The dude has aged about 80 years since then.

Didn't Dwazza say the stress will kill her?

I think he did, but I think he was half joking. But the point being that I think two terms would be an awful lot for her because of how demanding it is and she's no spring chicken. Feck it, she's not even elected yet, anything could happen so it's daft to be even talking about the possibility of two terms at the moment.

The campaign will probably be won over the next week or so with the VP and the 2nd Pres debates taking place. If the polls remain where they are following both then the third debate will probably be too late for Drumpf to turn the ship around.

Johnson is quickly losing the plot. Even his hair looks like he just stuck his finger in socket. Good news for Hillary.

He's adopting a Lynchian campaign technique.

Liz can be in the Senate until she's 90. I don't think she'll trade it for 4 years as president.

Feel the Bern 2020 though...

Also, ironclad logic here :wenger:

Is all this just an elaborate wind up for the rest of the world? Is the whole of the USA in on it too? Letting the world think they would elect these feckwits? I bet the real candidates are hidden and will be revealed on election day.

They are not throwing away an election with a supreme court nomination on the line for the "greater good" in 2020.

Well he is the leader of the GOP. His job is to secure the best possible candidate for the nomination who can also win a general election. He could have gotten the deficit reduction bill that Boehner worked with Obama onto the floor and show some flexibility towards bipartisan work, he could have done more to avoid a delay or two in government spending bills which gave legitimacy to the freedom caucus and the rise of Ted Cruz. He took perverse pleasure in being a cock-block to Obama and the democrats at every stage and essentially created a caustic atmosphere in his own electorate which reduced the chance of a genuine moderate Republican candidate winning the ticket.

With an 83 year old an 80 year old a 78 year old and four more in their 60's I suspect there will be plenty of supreme Court nominations over the next couple of presidential terms

Yeah try telling that to your electorate when Hillary takes up a request for rehearing on immigration.

I don't think the GOP has willingly thrown anything away. They've been hijacked by Trump. Nothing they can do if someone so controversial and politically naive is seen as the best choice by the majority of their base.

Also, to throw this one away would indicate that they think they have a great chance to win the next one. I wouldn't be so sure. They won't have a candidate as divisive as Trump again, but the Dems won't have a candidate as divisive as Clinton either (unless she runs again).

Got to be Cruz next time. Is there anyone else on the horizon ?
