Rubio top of the republican odds:
Rubio 2/1
Bush 5/2
Trump 5/1
Carson 11/1
Fiornia 14/1
Cruz 14/1

sky bet odds as of today...

Biden (5/1) ahead of sanders (6/1) in the betting and he has not even announced as a candidate yet

Looks like he is

I am surprised.

Take Bush at 5/2.

Trump obviously considers Bush and Rubio his main threats going forward and is saying things to undermine them.

I am as well
73 next month - so 74 by the start of the next presidency
I think Regan was the oldest inaugurated president at 70 - admittedly he looks in good health for his age but as the majority of presidents seem to serve two terms surely the thought of an 84 year old Biden as president will count against him?

With all that's happened to his family as well, I wouldn't have thought he'd want the pressure. Plus he has to topple Hillary to get the nomination and I don't see it happening.

Biden running will be a good thing for the Dems. They are stronger if Hillary has to fight for the nomination than if she was coronated with little resistance.

actually its 4 year terms isnt it so 82...
sanders is a similar age as well I think so perhaps age wont be that big an issue (even trump or clinton would be something like the 2nd or 3rd oldest at inauguration I think)... bloody baby boomers they just wont give up on power will they

If Biden won, I don't think he would be a 2 termer. He would probably get beaten out in his 2nd term, probably by a younger candidate.

Same with sanders?

Sanders simply won't get elected this time, so it would be unrealistic to even ponder what he would do after. His role in this race will be to reinvigorate the left wing of the Dem party and in the process drag Hillary's policy positions closer in that direction in order to get the support of the party's base during the gen election next November.

Yeah we thought the same about comrade corbyn

True I think most of our conservative politicians would be branded as communist hippies
I still find it strange that liberal is somehow a bad word overthere

Liberal was quite bad in the 90s and 2000s, and eventually the Dems stopped using it, and rebranded their liberal wing as "progressives", which seems to be very neutral and not-demonizable...so far.

Looks like Biden is going to announce he is running in a few minutes.

It is ridiculous. I can't believe with the Republicans shooting themselves in the foot with half wit nominees, Dems are going to go into full on infighting mode now.

I don't think Hillary is brilliant and am struggling to see myself voting for her next year, but Biden? For 8 years, he has been a running joke...

I think its great for the Dems. Hillary needs to face stiff resistance to sharpen her game for the Gen election, which Biden would bring. Who knows what he will decide though.

Now they are saying he won't run. lol. Nevermind then.
 The feck is happening?

Just had a gander at the latest polls though, Hillary's even leading in some New Hampshire primary ones now which Sanders had been walking a few weeks back, and this is with Biden included.

I guess Hillary is nailed on for the Dems then? Bernie is great, but I can't see a socialist being nominated in the US.

Trump

I think Hillary will make a good president. Unsure whether she (or any Democrat) will win a second term though, winning 4 straight elections outside of war is extremely rare. But then, has any opposition party been this terrible?

Biden has done Hillary a huge favour. Even if he does not come out and endorse her officially now, he has given a back handed endorsement. He has helped her a lot.
Just the fact that she can waltz through the primaries without any serious threat within the party will be great. She basically can spend all her time and money on the general election.
