New Dem Polls today... Not looking good for Bernie next Tuesday

She's got this IMO.

Even if Bernie runs her close or takes an upset win or two the Dem rules mean that he won't exactly be closing the pledged delegate gap by much. He needs to start thrashing her in several states to close her current lead.

He could take Missouri, but at this stage the time decay on the Math is not working for him. He needs a seismic shift in perception and narrative between him and Hillary, but imo his platform is too narrow and naive to be perceived as sufficiently comprehensive.

He brought US economic policies back towards the left from where they once were. You can't expect him to turn America into Denmark in one fell swoop. It's all about him taking steps towards his own ideals.

and at the same time he also promoted various things, that you consider right-wing. Aka free-trade agreements; bank-bailout; not prosecuting anyone from wallstreet and letting them off the hook easy. No useful regulation that prevent 2b2f.

HC is pro free-trade(ish); pro more regulation, that benefit some parts of wall-street while they hurt other parts of wall-street (contra "short-termism"); she is pro corporate bail-outs, but those are sometimes considered "progressive" policies (when you bail out the auto-industry) and sometimes terribly right-wing, when you bail-out banks. She is influenced by (free-market) newkeynsian ideas. She loves some regulations as long as they are tailored in a way, that suit her donors. (Just like Obama, Bill, Bush jr. and Bush Sr.)

Nor will Bernie's when consider that even if elected President, his policies would be blocked. When he gets asked about it, he delusionally suggests that can be averted if there's a "political revolution" that elects Dems into the majority. Well no shit sherlock, by that logic any Dem candidate could get their policies through if they had a Dem Congress. I'm 100% confident that much like Trump, Bernie is winging it and hasn't thought things through to the extent that they are tangibly implementable, which makes him more of a feel good fantasy candidate, than a serious, legitimate one.

I'm not kidding myself that what Bernie wants is a simple ask. His 'political revolution' is asking voters to be engaged. This is what we all want. Bernie has spelt out how he will pay for his policies tbd. Granted as you say he will need a cooperative congress. In the same way I don't see Hillary having an easy ride either.

American University's Kogod School of Business tracked every Presidential primary since 1968 to determine which state primaries for each party were most likely to predict the eventual winner in the nomination contest. In their extensive study, only one state was found to predict the Democratic nominee 100 percent of the time for every presidential election during the last 50 years.

That state was Kansas.

Bernie won Kansas on March 5, with a poll-defying 67.7 percent of the vote.

Time to get that old red bunting out comrades.

How're you doing these days Langster?

Ok thanks mate :) Just getting lots of rest and trying not to think about it all too much. It's getting very boring now though so am thinking of writing some short stories, or a book. I've had some ideas for years but never got round to it, and this is the perfect opportunity to do so. Even if nothing comes of it, at least I will have tried and won't be able to regret not doing it, and it should help take my mind off stuff if nothing else.

Jeez. I just saw that Rubio's campaign manager is telling supporters to vote for Kasich in Ohio. Talk about being desperate.

Yeah, and they are trying to get all Kasich voters to vote for Rubio in Florida. They are really getting scared about Drumpf. I get the feeling (like many here, myself included) they all thought he would have self destructed by now, the same as everyone thought about Leicester I suppose, it's just not happening and the reality is now setting in and as you say, they are getting desperate.

They should've been coordinating on that front weeks ago if they were really serious about stopping him, it was clearly the only way if one of them wasn't going to drop out.

Sounds like there could be a riot tonight at Trump's event in Chicago. Lots of tension between the crowd and security apparently.

Anyone that mentions Trump increasing white voter turnout would do well to remember that there will be an equal (well, perhaps very unequal in fact) and opposite reaction of other voters turning out to stop him.

Sounds like a great idea!!

Good.

People need to stand up to his shit. We keep saying he is divisive...we need the images on the ground to show it.

Horrible stuff. Trump has a right to do his meetings without a bunch of anarchist Bernie Bros jumping getting into fights.

Rally cancelled.

@Raoul but but...he says the people are angry...well here you are, lots of angry people.

You want to play the race card...be divisive, this is what you can expect.

Lots of Republicans and Democrats have hated candidates in the recent past and the rhetoric has gotten progressively angry....but, Trump took it to another level.

He has no one to blame but himself.

Nonsense. Trump has a right to hold his rallies and anyone disrupting it should be led out and if need be, arrested.

Agreed. He's got a right to stir up bigotry, fair enough, but opponents have the equal right to call him out on his race-baiting to his face, as long as they remain peaceful.

Getting more worried about what it'll be like near election time (and after the result) to be honest. I hope the anger is focused on getting right minded folk into the ballot box and delivering the historic repudiation that twat deserves.

The violence is ugly and to be condemned...but, free speech works both ways.

He has the right to rally and people who feel he is a hatemongerer have a right to protest.

I get not everyone will agree with me, but there you are.

Can I just ask at what point does Drumpf's speeches go from his opinion at a political rally to hate speech or inciting violence? He has been racist, xenophobic has condoned violence and has offered to pay legal fees for his supporters who carry out violent assaults. Whatever way you look at it it's not right and I'm not sure the legality of it all because he must be close to crossing a line.

Imagine if it was a Muslim or black candidate saying this stuff, how would it be treated then? I don't know how the laws work in the US but I don't think they are too different to the UK on these matters. However you look at it they are not the actions of a President of a first world country.

EDIT! A lot of the protesters are Republicans who are against Drumpf.

Free speech is really broad here...even hate speech is protected.

So long as you aren't straight up calling for violence, the constitution allows you to say what you want.

That's why those horrible Westboro church cnuts get to say those horrible things at the funeral of armed forces personnel in the US.

They should be escorted out if they are disruptive as they have been at previous events. Otherwise what's the point of having a political rally.

Yeah, forgot about those morons.

Interesting that Fox just interviewed a few Republicans protesting against Trump. He is stirring a lot of hate on both sides. Not good at all. :(
