My experience in Iowa was a great one. I started out with all of the experts saying I couldn't do well there and ended up in 2nd place. Nice

Donald J. Trump‏@realDonaldTrump26m26 minutes ago
Because I was told I could not do well in Iowa, I spent very little there - a fraction of Cruz & Rubio. Came in a strong second. Great honor

Donald J. Trump‏@realDonaldTrump11m11 minutes ago
The media has not covered my long-shot great finish in Iowa fairly. Brought in record voters and got second highest vote total in history!

Donald J. Trump‏@realDonaldTrump6m6 minutes ago
I will be talking about my wonderful experience in Iowa and the simultaneous unfair treatment by the media-later in New Hampshire. Big crowd

I don't believe I have been given any credit by the voters for self-funding my campaign, the only one. I will keep doing, but not worth it!

Like a strange version of OptaJoe.

Is Sanders for real of just a scam like Obama?

when shit sounds too good to be true, there's hidden cat.

does he has hidden agenda behind all his nice ideas and thoughts? Its so hard to trust in politics now a days.

i've been sending all my positive mental power to Bernie, so i hope he is the real deal and not businessmen's plan B or C.

I'd assume he means someone who appears refreshing and likely to bring change at first, but is ultimately not too different to what's come before. That would obviously depend on each person's own personal opinion of how much of an impact Obama's had.

pretty much.

Sounds about right.

Some of us were optimistic that America had gotten so carried away with pretending they weren't racist that they'd inadvertently elected an actual socialist, rather than just someone the far right call a communist, as they do most people.

To be fair, I think anyone - no matter how ambitious - is always going to be limited to a certain extent in America with all the cheques/balances that come with being the president. Sanders would likely be the case, and would probably struggle to implement plenty of what he wants. Still, that's no reason not to vote for someone like Sanders if you do support him, because it's better to have someone you agree with not being able to live up to all their promises than someone you strongly disagree with being able to live up to some of theirs. I think.

The end is near for him.

Yeah, I'd go along with all that.

This. Anyone expecting sweeping change is setting themselves up for perpetual disappointment.

Bernie has been saying the same things for decades, the man is for real.
I believe him to be the best US candidate I have seen in a very very long time and finally the folks there have a decent, honourable option instead of the same usual horseshit.

Anyone but Obama and we don't have a deal with Iran. He hasn't done enough but, if people listened to him during the campaign -beyond the oratory skills and cool factor, he wasn't exactly 'radical'.

Despite this...he has been called a communist/marxist/socialist on a daily basis...now imagine, if he had the same policies as Sanders. He literally would have been lynched.

I see Donald Trump has finally learned how to retweet people, rather than just copy and paste the text.

Yup. No chance he shifts at all if he gets the nomination, instead he's likely to double down on the craziness. His appeal is his fecked up ideology. If he shifts from that...he has NOTHING.

Ben Carson not happy with the snake -

http://fortune.com/2016/02/01/ben-carson-accuses-ted-cruz-of-dirty-tricks-at-iowa-caucuses/

The article is not very specific, if Carson is talking about the "going home to get more clothes" statement then he's being a moron, and blaming Cruz for his own stupidity. Why on earth would you mention that you were temporarily suspending your campaign to go home DURING a caucus? What other impressions were people supposed to draw?

Which is his campaign in a nutshell come to think of it.

sweeping change had happened, can happen again. Plus, any small change in the right direction, still gets you closer to the goal. There is no stopping now, just delaying the inevitable. (If Bernie is elected and he really is all he says he is)

Young people needs to get involved and change gonna be faster.

edit. if a president cant complain with his campaign promises, he should talk straight to the country about the reasons of it, and put the blame where it belongs, so people can know.

Christie already attacking Rubio as 'The Boy in the Bubble'.
I'm struggling to believe that he, Jeb and Kasich are all going to withdraw and throw their support behind him any time soon.

Jeb! s poll numbers are in the toilet as is his results...when will his superPac stop backing him and throw their money behind Rubio? He is the only establishment candidate that has a chance for the GOP.

Rubio is a default candidate for the establishment. He has no stature. Manufactured. This is why all the others will rip into him. The next GOP debate should be interesting.

I saw him and TV just there and he also appears moderately sane. Like the sort of guy you could probably talk to for a few minutes and, at a stretch, think of as not being batshit crazy. He has that sort of photogenic look to him. Whether that'll stop petty party politics potentially going against him is another thing though.

Kaisich is actually pretty moderate compared to him.

If he gets clearly above them by next week, perhaps. If not, it's a lot more squabbling until Super Tuesday at least.

Cruz Campaign has just apologized to Ben Carson

----------Last night when our political team saw the CNN post saying Dr. Carson was not carrying on to New Hampshire and South Carolina, our campaign updated the grassroots leaders just as we would with any breaking news story. That’s fair game.

What the team should have done is send around the follow-up statement from the Carson campaign clarifying that he was indeed staying in the race when that came out.

That was a mistake from our end, and for that I apologize to Dr. Carson.-----------

Even the apology is a lie...CNN didn't say Carson was not carrying on to NH and SC.

I think he's the real deal.

Unlike Obama, he's funded almost exclusively through supporter donations and not corporations or powerfully lobbies. For what its worth I think Obama is personally a good guy but still a product of the establishment, whereas Sanders is pretty much as anti-establishment as you can be within mainstream US politics.

Wrong. Obama's ascent to the Presidency was famously funded by small donations, in fact he revolutioned the concept of grass roots campaign funding which Sanders is now copying. The reality is that people talk all sorts of shite during campaigns and are then forced into reality and pragmatism once they are elected and realize they represent the entire country and not just the idealistic loons on the fringes of their own party. Sanders would be no different, as it's a normal facet of responsible governance.

Wow. Really hope this load of crap is not swept under the carpet.

Kasich is the best candidate of the bunch but sadly much to sane to make it though the crazy GOP primaries.
Rubio will probably get it IMO, he is very good on his feet in a debate setting as well.

Given the obstacles put in his way I'd say he's done a great job. Certainly not a scam.

You can't equate the two's campaign funding. Obama had Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Time Warner, Citigroup and other major companies on his list of top contributors. He also availed himself of a Supet PAC.
