Some glimmer of hope from Fox news even for Hillary

- PA and MI can still swing for her
- Maine called for her
- Slightly(Barely) ahead in NH now
- Alaska is not a 100% Trump call.. some reports that Hillary in within a chance there.

Isn't Trump winning PA right now?

Im so glad I live in a country where it at least seems possible that we might get rid of our right wing loons next time around. Admittedly for only slightly less shit center/left idiots.

"Battle of generations"

The media love to spin it like that. It's a common trend. Most people become more conservative as they get older. Like I said there's still tons of people of all ages voting either way - unfair and flippant to single out one minority group and blame them for the result of the entire vote, disregarding the masses.

I mean, if Hilary won with under 45s but lost overall, that obviously means we are not talking about a "minority group" when we discuss the old voters.

And fine. I'm disappointed that 40% of under 45s voted Trump. But the narrative explaining the victory cannot focus on the disaffected youth when they voted for Clinton.

Hang on. Where do you live?

Obama was behind in the polls going into the last week and barely sqeaked his 2nd term.
I honestly think he would have been trumped tonight if he was running. Hard to promise more change after 8 years of struggles v a man with a louder promise of change.
He won by 4% and over 100 EVs, wasn't a squeaker.

This will be the 2nd time in the past 5 cycles that a Dem has won the popular vote and lost the electoral college.

And you can bet this will now become "a thing".

This is exactly it!! Why is it so hard for ppl to see this!
Because people just think :

well I'm doing ok what's everyone complaining about?
Or It's a rich a country how can their be so many pissed of poor people?

The last decade has been incredibly hard on the working classes of richer country's and there angry and scared ..... and in these situations you get people voting for anyone who offers change.... even it for the worse, that's what happened with brexit and that's what's happening with trump.

We've seen it again and again in politics when people are struggling extreme parties get more votes....

Is she winning the popular vote?

Exactly, and it seems to be the same everywhere. Many liberals, despite being intelligent, well educated and "in the right" a lot of the times seems to have this holier than thou attitude coupled with an uncanny ability to dismiss any opposing viewpoints as stupid

Instead they should focus on winning over people with discourse and well reasoned arguments

They seem to struggle to come up with well reasoned arguments on a lot of issues, clearly. Any pseudo-intellectual can write off vast swathes of electorates as racist morons because they don't agree with their own enshrined opinions. A genuinely intelligent liberal would have the common sense to realise that nothing will be accomplished with that approach. But I've not seen many attempts at engaging with these arguments post Brexit, and I'm not hopeful of seeing m/any post Trump.

But then this is all hypothetical, as the constraints of a term limit must influence behaviour. Obama wouldn't have lost the same percentage of the millennial vote either IMO. Ultimately, he needed another vibrant Democrat to succeed him, and Clinton certainly ain't that.

Him and all the other journos are winning with Trump. They will pay less taxes, don't need free healthcare, and will see big returns on their investments.

I can only imagine the crying and harping on by them and all the other lefty celebs and actors that will come out of this.
