2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi

Did you know that in the history of the Winter Olympics Norway has won on a per capita basis 1 medal for every 16,556 people.

New York State has produced more Winter Olympic Gold Medalists then Colorado. 23 to 1.

It's biathlon. Greatest winter sport.

Is that the one with the shooting and cross country?
Amazing to see them trying to hot those targets while their heart rates are still elevated.

Loved the cross country sprints the other day too, crazy stuff.

The same Swedish skier.

Was a poor day for the Canadian short track skaters.

Brits are hyping the skeleton up big time so I assume ye are expecting to take home a medal from this one? This Yarnold girl is apparently going to win it all according to the commentary team.

she should do with the lead she has for the final round... though if anybody can stuff it up its going to be a brit

They must end up with some serious accidents if they end up coming off those things! The speed is insane!

Why is Britain good at Skeleton? A medal in each of the last four Winter Olympics, won by four different women (assuming Yarnold doesn't crash).

Every time I turn on the Winter Olympics coverage, it's some mincer poncing about in a leotard. Are there any decent sports in this for the uninitiated?

All the figure skaters are falling. It's hilarious.

Hopefully this German wins, he seems to be wearing the least amount of glitter.

Edit: aand he's down.

Riverdance on the ice? What kind of fresh hell is this?

So that was only Britain's tenth ever gold at the Winter Olympics. And some of the ten shouldn't really count. I mean, this was the first one:

Also, such chet:
A peculiarity of the competition is that Great Britain and Ireland's Major D. G. Astley played for Sweden when they overcame France in the play-off. The IOC records that he received a silver medal along with the Swedes, and also a gold medal, as part of the GB and I team.

Figure skating would be improved immeasurably if everyone performed their routine at the same time.

The British girls are curling again losing 8-7 on the last end.

Edit: we won 10-8.:D Hope these girls go a long way they are very easy on the eye

Oh dear, the british girl who lost her silver after being disqualified has just been disqualified in the first heat of her other event.

I love Hockey time, I was still living in Canada when they won gold at the last one in overtime and that was an epic party. This USA - Russia game should be good.

Hockey should be played in slow motion. The commentators are saying "off the post!", "off the bar!". I can't see shit.

You get used to it, but a lot of the shots you'll never see, it's much easier if you go in real life.
