Gaming 1836 - The Europa Universalis 4 Experiment (Hands-off) - Map & stats in second post - Final Map and Stats update - Timelapse video

Hmm was hoping to get a bit more out of that. Hopefully integrating all those smaller countries that make mine into a patchwork won't take forever now.

Enjoying these updates, thanks again @nimic for running this. Have a safe trip and looking forward to the end of the week to see how all of it pans out.

ALM needs a firm smack on the nose for his recent behaviour. Lost half his fleet, time to take Crete and secure half the Med.

Water under the bridge, buddy. A progressive nation looks forward, not back.

I lost my mighty, beloved navy, you lost a teensy bit of useless land. I say equals pequals.

Friends?

Ideas (these are basically upgrades you can take that come in Administrative, Diplomatic and Military, using the currency generated (generally) by the skills of your ruler. I'll go into a bit more detail about these when I do country-by-country updates a bit later today, but they're one way of measuring how well you're doing that doesn't necessarily relate directly to your number of provinces or the size of your armies. If you're conquering a lot you'll probably use a lot of Administrative power on making the new provinces cores, so maybe won't have as much to spend on new ideas)

35: Welsh Wonder, Solius
34: SilentWitness, Eboue, P-Nut
33: AnotherLondonManc, PSV

Most developed province You use Monarch Power to develop these. It gets more expensive to increase the higher it is.

Notes from St H,

The sun, oh, the sun! It’s playing tricks on me. Where does it hide? Behind the sea? Or is it swallowed by a giant space camel? My coconuts...they chatter, incessant chatter. Plotting, always plotting. And the crabs! Conspiring with those treacherous parrots. I can feel it!

If you play as Gotland, they have a new mission tree that basically revolves around the all emigrating to Bermuda.

Yeah, this thread inspired me to play as, yup, Morocco. In my game Aragon is actually busy conquering Spain! Haven't seen this happen often.
I literally never saw that. Iberian wedding event always screws that.

Morocco is fun. Hit Granada soon as possible, ally Turks and crash Spain. Easy peasy

Are there any mobile games similar to this that you can play on mobile? I've been itching for something like this for a long time, without knowing how to define the genre

Strategy games for mobile phones are shit. Because they are P2P mostly.

Yeah that's all I've ever encountered, wondered if anyone that plays this had one that they actually enjoy on mobile, as I don't have a laptop at present and it seems excessive to buy one just to play games when I hardly get a spare minute at home.

My last few playthroughs on EU4 I didnt finish, might have to go back to them. Had an incredible Hungary run going, and had just ragequit my Inca run after all of the European great powers declared simultaneous wars on me. Bah.

Sounds like you're a glutton for punishment like me. Hungary is one of my favourite playthroughs. It's always a struggle surrounded by Poland, Austria and the Ottomans.

I did the Sun God achieve as Inca, I remember in one run having good progress, only to notice I needed (and hadn't) colonised the Falklands before the Europeans got there. My most brutal achieve run was probably African Power as Kongo.. I have nightmares about all the restarts.

Im an achievement hunter, although I usually get bored by the lategame - hate having to micromanage about 50 individual stacks and navies. Same reason probably that I have never done a World Conquest.

Some of my more interesting recent runs were doing an Orleans => France, Joan of Arc playthrough (with the special Theocratic government form, 'The Militant Order of Saint Joan'), and trying unsuccessfully on two occasions to do a tall Korea run - unsuccessful because it was simply too damn easy to conquer China, and doing a Norse Norway (North Sea Empire) run.

Hungary can be an absolute powerhouse in a players hands. You can beat back the Ottomans early and basically get missions for PUs with everyone nearby.

Good news @PSV! You're free of the @Salt Bailly yoke. Though you did choose to ally him, so maybe it was amicable.

Bad news, @Walrus! @hobbers is angry about losing to @AnotherLondonManc (who also just beat you), so now he's coming for your stuff. You're also at war with @BootsyCollins because he is trying to nibble on your ally, Nogai. Not sure why the Timurids aren't in it; they might have ditched you.

Well, as the only (?) protestant country in Europe (ironically in the most Catholic area) my future looks bright. Good that we have a strong leader.

Now can we please go get some coast?
