van Gaal/a team on the up, higher wages and a club with more purchasing power which is likely to indicate a higher chance of winning trophies the next few years. I can only see him choosing arsenal if he's got a serious hard on for Wenger and or London.

Oh, and we're the bigger club.

It's easy to be "on the up" when you finished in 7th the year before.

Paul Pogba isn't even close to that good yet, he's raw as feck and people forget this because of his highlight reel. He isn't actually even the best midfielder in Italy, let alone being in the best in the world (which is what you're implying). And the poster you replied to is correct, 2011-2013 Gundogan was a mile better than anything Pogba so far has shown.

EXACTLY

I struggle to get excited over Ilkay now tbh. Same as Hummels. Feels like we will be buying two players in the hope that they can be as good as they were 3 years ago. I think the reality is that the names Hummels and Gundogan don't mean what they once did. Gundogan would probably go for the amount touted whether he had a year left or not.

Tell that to Cazorla, Sanchez and Ozil. 3 of the top ten players in the league. They will spend again this summer, and certainly get a decent striker in finally, although Giroud isn't that bad.
They only joined Arsenal because we didn't want them. :smirk:

one more mid is just what bayern needs.
To be fair, Alonso and Schweinsteiger aren't getting any younger and are both in decline. Thiago's only just returned from an injury hit few years so refreshing their midfield isn't out of the question.

Arsenal? United? You're all wrong! We'll pip in at the last minute and steal him.

Bayern-bound.

Hasn't he been quoted as saying he want to play abroad though?

And Dortmund would be surely do all they can to stop him going there, I know it's business but Bayern gobbling up Dortmund's best players just isn't healthy for German football.

He's not defensive or boring enough for you lot ;)
Neither is Cesc. Think Gündogan would be a fantastic signing for us.

Think you guys have it sewn up by the looks of it, though. We'll get Koke. :D

Did you pretend to be a United fan for 2 years or you just said feck that I'm buying a Hazard shirt? :smirk:

Anyway, we're richer than you!

Bluemoon think City are a dead cert for Koke, although they have transfer threads for Messi and Ronaldo etc so it probably means nothing lol.

Don't know why City or Chelsea think they'd get Koke. He screams Barca signing and I think they'd get him once the ban is over.

Thought I'd have a browse through Arsenal Mania. Some interesting opinions...

No chance he picks Utd over us. We have Özil in front of him, they have Fellaini. If we're interested, he'll join us.

We need a world class DLP, Arteta is done, and Santi doesn't seem feasible there in the long run, both very old too, so we need younger otherwise our midfield looks average. Coq-Rambo is average, neither has top class technique and distribution, which will kill us in the CL.

Wenger is a huge fan of his, so I'm confident we'll go for him.
Don't know if I'm to much interested in mid table players... We had enough of those.
^This doesn't go down well to be fair.
On one hand, there is no reason to take Gundogan this year after refusing Cesc last year.
On the other hand, maybe we learned our lesson and the last thing we want is Man Utd getting a top class midfielder.
Pre-injury, Gundogan was a joy to watch, having Gundogan/Wilshere/Ramsey/Cazorla/Ozil in the same squad would be glorious.
That Fjorfet guys thinks Arsenal and Utd are faves. But he also said we were signing Draxker.

Joining Utd for me.
Gundogan would seriously push United up a level, which is annoying. Just the player they need.

I don't know this paper. Are they genuinely reliable?
I don't know myself but German people on twitter say Der Westen and Kicker are the most trustworthy papers in Germany when it comes to sport. Bild on the other hand is like the Daily Mirror.

Some has gone as far to say that Der Westen wouldn't publish an article if they weren't as close to sure as possible about their sources.

He already rejected Barca last season, and improved his contract/clause after that. I see very less chance of City or Chelsea appealing to his taste. But if City or Chelsea offer 60m, I see a chance of the Atletico making a good business. I don't see him going for anything less than the release clause.

'No chance he picks Utd over us. We have Özil in front of him, they have Fellaini. '

That f*cking stings tbf
