The good thing is his touch and vision are every bit as effective, after a good preseason he should've fully regained his natural fitness too.
How was his "engine"?
Thanks Ekeke. Roma has Naingollan, plus 1 or 2 others. not exactly spoilt for choice, but there are a few outside of mega money players like Pogba and Verratti. (suppose they're not that young though).Dani Parejo is a similar level to Ander (but also too similar to see us having both) so I'm sure he'll be one of those looked at by the top clubs needing a CM
Non existent. Like I said in the match thread, he seemed incapable of breaking into anything more than a light jog. Showed zero aggression and he stayed deep like a 40 year old Pirlo (minus the passing range) the whole game. His touch under pressure looked good though. If he stays at the same level he'll need to be partnered with high energy midfielders to make up for his lack of an engine.
Whoever ends up getting him is taking a big gamble on whether he manages gets back into shape physically or not. I'd rather we just went for someone who was more of a sure bet.
Watched him and Hummels, mainly. Thoughts on Gundogan vs Bayern:
Pro:
1. Distribution is excellent under pressure. Kept his cool and almost always found the right option.
2. In terms of creativity, his ability to thread a pass through the middle to create a counter was fantastic. Tended to look for the killer pass over the top when it's clearly on or when he's pressed with nowhere to go but backwards, which is safe if not as possession committed as LVG prefers.
3. Off the ball he tracked players well. Seemed to really know his job positionally. Not a lot of situations where a Bayern player in his vicinity was able to get free and receive a pass.
Con:
1. Long passing wasn't that accurate. Made good reads but failed to hit his target mostly.
2. Was dribbled/run past a few times fairly easily, as he's not that agile.

You think they're that similar? Parejo is much smoother and a better passer but I don't think he's as good a fit for the Prem, as he's a bit less combative and all-action than Herrera.

Duncan Wright trying to tell Twitter that he was told United arent in for Gundogan, Depay or Clyne
"Flies against what I thought, but been told #mufc are not signing Depay, Clyne or Gundogan this summer"

This... Is not a good use of statisticsStatistics prove that Gundogan is as good or perhaps better then before his injury.

Don't shoot the messanger. Sure, he had a set back with his injury, so from a physical point of view he will need some time to get back into form, but at his age 23 and the relatively low price tag it sure is worth a risk. Start the chopper Woodie!

So, who are the potential clubs hunting for his autograph ?
Arsenal
United
(Bayern, just to troll?)
This news will surely attract other clubs like City, Liverpool, PSG perhaps ? Don't think Barcelona and Madrid will open the file on this one.

I think if his options are between us and Bayern, Dortmund will hope or push him to choose us. On the other hand if there are other clubs like Arsenal in the equation, it will be tough and we need to be decisive. I hope that we're really interested in signing him and it's not just the media playing games.
Last i checked Skybet had made City favorites, so they obviously dont trust their own info much. All but confirmed given the Sky Sports report, no?
We're being watched!
@Damien Thread title update please.
