Would MUCH rather throw everything at Pogba.
Bayern can feck right off.
I like your optimism and am beginning to think the same, would certainly explain why Klopp has decided to leave. Gundogan would be great here, really hope we bring him in. With all the rumours of Depay it looks like we're favourites to get him too but I'm not liking the fact PSG and Liverpool are sniffing about. Love that we are linked with all three players though, what a summer this could be if Woody makes them happen.
Makes no sense. Klopp has had his best players leave every season, why would Hummels leaving have any effect whatsoever? Fact is he's been in demand for years but out of loyalty to Dortmund he's stayed. For once he hasnt had a great season so now next season's manager might do better than he has done this season. Thats the ideal situation for Dortmund to find a replacement because the next guy can only be more of a success than Klopp was this season

Pretty sure we will along with everyone else. As Balague said we did with Falcao and Di Maria, Woodward needs to just say yes yes yes to any demands thrown at him.
Yeah I think we will too. Van Gaal rates him. He fits the profile of Gaalactico for Woody and like you said we are hardly shy with our bids these days. Rumoured to have offered Spurs £100m for Bale too weren't we?
Its pretty simple for me. If we want to win the league next season or even in the next few years we have to seriously win the transfer battle this summer against our PL rivals. For me that simply means Bale, Pogba and co have to end up at OT and not elsewhere if they choose England. We cannot buy everyone obviously but these are players we need, the best available in their various positions, and gambling on Depay and Gundogan is just not the direct route to success at this stage. Once we win our first titlle after SAF, we can start playing roulette again.
As we've seen with Di Maria, spending to get the most high profile players may not be the best way for Val Gaal to have success. It'll only work if the players fit into his system and ethos. Otherwise they might even sit on the bench for ages like Ander and Smalling when they should clearly be on the pitch
Di Maria was a shining light last year in a 4-3-3. He was one of Reals best players and MOTM in the CL final. If it doesnt work Its for non footballing reasons for me which have impacted his form. I think taking chances on players like him will work out more often than taking chances on players feeling their way back from injury etc in Europe. Thats just common sense. Our primary targets will be Pogba and Bale I'm sure and if unsuccessful its players like Gundogan and Depay.....Thats how I'd expect the club to be targeting players.

Maybe it`s just me but I rate Gündogan higher than Pogba.

The level Gundogan reached 2 years ago, is higher than the level Pogba has yet reached imo. Pogba is probably more fun to watch, with his great tricks and goals, but how Gundogan controls the midfield, orchistrates the game, creates, short passes, long passes, interceptions, tackling, Gundogan is still a class above.Maybe it`s just me but I rate Gündogan higher than Pogba.
its a little strange to judge him on 'post injury' only, especially as we still haven't seen a great deal of him as of yet. Gundogan has shown he has the talent to arguably be the best in the world, Pogba hasn't yet and there is no indication that its a guarantee either. Devils advocate and all!Its just you. Different skill sets but Pogba replaces Roy Keane for me as a dynamic box to box player and thats something we have missed for a long time. Gundogan pre injury you could have an argument but this is post injury and hence you dont

There's no way that Dortmund will sell Reus to us now that he has a longterm contract and no release clause. I doubt he'll leave at all this summer, but if he does, I'm 100% certain that his destination won't be Bayern. I also doubt we're stupid enough to pay big money for him now, if he could have left on the cheap a few months ago. He made his bed by signing a new contract. It might be realistic that one of Reus/Gündogan/Hummels will end up at Bayern after the summer.
My bet would be on Reus as successor for the ageing Ribery and Robben. However the other 2 would also make sense as their CBs are one of their few weaker spots and Gündogan has been labelled as potential successor for Schweinsteiger in the German national Team by the press.

We also aren't weak at centerback at all. Boateng has been fantastic for years now, Badstuber looked excellent this season, actually a lot better than Hummels. Benatia hasn't been fit once this season, but obviously is a top class centerback and we've played with Martinez and Alaba at centerback as well, both did really well. I don't think Hummels wants to return to us anyway, but I also think we're not the slightest bit interested in signing Hummels. Even if Dante leaves, I doubt we'll add a new centerback to the team.
Gündogan however is certainly possible. Schweinsteiger's and Alonso's contracts run out next year and it would make a lot of sense to add at least one more central midfielder to the team. His contract situation also helps a lot. If we convince Gündogan to join us, Dortmund again face the dilemma of selling to us this summer or letting him leave on a free next summer.
I don't want Pogba anywhere near our club unless he fires his agent. We already have enough idiots in and around the club who talk shit all the time. There's no need to add Raiola to it, no thanks.Go for Pogba then.......

Did you bank on sky sports when they informed the world that Benatia was on a provate jet to Manchester to sign for us?I'm still banking on that Sky Sports report. They rarely stick their neck out unless something is set in stone.
At least put up a fight. Something like the Thiago transfer saga, that was beautiful to follow.Like Balu said its likely Bayern will get involved. We might as well look at Pogba who is at a price they won't be interested in......
Gündogan would suit us much better than Pogba, on and off the field. His agent makes me nervous too, he will feck off in a few years to Real or PSG. I know he is exciting, but van Gaal would misuse him.

Or when they told us that Ed Woodward had left the pre season tour in 2013 for urgent incomming transfer business

The sad thing is, if Real comes calling we're usually both fecked, no matter what nationality .He is German. He'll prefer you. If he was English, he'd prefer us!

Pogba perfectly suits the 'Fellaini' role and he had mobility, agility, speed and technique.
Maybe, but he would still have to twist his game a bit. If he played there, we would be a bit lightweight in midfield again. I still think we need another #6, even with a Pogba transfer.
Why if Carrick is at 6 and Pogba at 8 and Herrera at 10 its no more lightweight than we've been for a decade.
Carrick wont play forever and every game. We need to look for alternatives. Ideally Schneiderlin

Lightweight ? Pogba is physically as strong as Fellaini, unless maybe you are talking about defensive nous.
I would love to sign Gündogan just for the drama here alone, please don't hate me, but the Guardiola and the Thiago saga have been pretty epic
