This one is happening 100%. Depay looks likely too. Hummels we will have to wait a few weeks.

I like your optimism and am beginning to think the same, would certainly explain why Klopp has decided to leave. Gundogan would be great here, really hope we bring him in. With all the rumours of Depay it looks like we're favourites to get him too but I'm not liking the fact PSG and Liverpool are sniffing about. Love that we are linked with all three players though, what a summer this could be if Woody makes them happen.

Certainly interesting that Der Westen are sticking their guns with the story even after all the denials, mind you I have no idea If they're the German equivalent of TheTimes, or the Daly Star.

We've probably got a deal set up with Gundogan. It's just a case of meeting Dortmund's asking price when the window opens.

Der Westen are insistent and they are very reliable. They don't go around spreading rumours so if they are sure then I'm very confident. I think what has happened is Gündogan's reps have been told by BVB this is his price (€30m) if he won't renew. Reps have reached a personal agreement with United, who have agreed to pay BVB's price. United/BVB negotiations are most likely a formality.

I hope De Westen are right about this, cos I sure could do with being cheered up after todays performance.

Possibly the inter club negotiations left are mainly how to structure payments, and junk.

it had, of course, to do with some rather desperate attempt of treatment and/or another evaluation on his severe, chronic spinal condition.
seems like he quite came around, consulting dozens of international back specialists and spine experts - which just so happened to also include an indeed SLIGHTLY ominous-sounding trip to a russian military hospital, somewhere in freakin' crimea.

long story short: everything failed in the end; and gündogan had to undergo a minor-yet-critical, hour-long spine surgery and has supposedly been pain-free ever since.

btw, reading his interview on the crimea anecdote etc, there's another segment in which he openly talks about how miserable to downright depressive he had become when going through the sometimes overwhelming lengths of his seemingly neverending, year-long spine fiasco. he briefly describes how he turned more and more antisocial, didn't want to leave his home and how his whole mind had, at some point, been absorbed by nothing but ever the same fears and thoughts about whether he'd once again be able to fully regain health - until he came to realize that his (mis)behaviour, during all these months, had been doing a lot of harm not only to himself, but to others, too - especially to his nonetheless supportive inner circle of girlfriend and family.

I can certainly empathize with him on this point. I had a back injury from the age of about 15-18 that stopped me playing football (or any sport altogether). I went to various hospitals, had various tests, all different scans etc etc I still to this day suffer pain from it at times (I'm only 23 now) and its horrible. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for a professional footballer to go through it, knowing it could ruin his career.

The crimea story is quite funny though

Did you get Checked for Ankylosing Spondylitis?

Did you get Checked for Ankylosing Spondylitis?

I never got a confirmed diagnosis for anything in the end, but I don't remember being checked for any specific condition at the time. Just lots of scans/blood tests/physio etc etc The issue was always with the muscle in the lower left part of my back, in the end I just found ways of easing the pain. Things like physio/acupuncture/osteopathy. I've just learnt to live with it now, and it doesn't really effect me to much.

We all just wait for the confirmation. First, BVB will say he rejected a contract offer from them. Then a few days later, he will be our player. Thats what i expect the next few days.

Sky Germany saying his former club would get 4.5m from the transfer.

All he's saying is that they will get a piece of the pie if Dortmund decide to sell Gündogan.

And that article on derwesten literally just links the initial one from a few days ago, while mentioning that Dortmund's officals denied the story.

They are definitely not a tabloid. But on the other hand the only fully reliable paper when it comes to Dortmund is Ruhrnachrichten, their media partner.

One article also mentioned that the people around Gündogan are spreading rumours about possible interest from Juventus and Bayern. So this whole thing along with that might just be a stunt in order to either force some interest or get a better position in talks with Dortmund.

I also read that Dortmund's officials are supposedly optimistic (again) that he will extend his contract, I think it was SZ who published that.

Could be saying that to wind them up though. Don't they play each other tomorrow?

Literally every side is probably making shit up to some extend at this point. I think the wisest course is to ignore all the news and wait for something official.

I believe De Westen are Dortmund's national papers or something? In that case, I would like to think they wouldn't post anything that is detrimental to Dortmund as a football club and to their own fans. There could be really something in it if they are still insistent on the Gundogan thing

We almost need a ranking of foreign papers and journalist's just so we have something to syphon through the bullshit to find the more probable snippets.
