He could sign a contract with United but keep playing for Dortmund? What happens if the two clubs play each other?
I think it's like a pre-contract...so the player and club agree that he will be joining United at the end of the season. I think we signed Anderson + Nani before the season ended although I'm not sure.

If Porto qualified themselves to a semi final against Real Madrid, Danilo would have played, like anyone else.

iirc Hernandez was announced after the Bayren champions league game and smalling was bought after the window closed so for people asking whether we can sign players before the transfer window open, relax we can.

What are we doing buying players in April? Will ruin Muppet season.

Also, would nobody be worried buying a player who has played 29 games in 2 years?
I think almost all of those games came after the year long injury. He's played loads since he came back and he seems to be fine.

Can people please stop talking about the price and tell me if he's good enough even if we assume that he doesn't get any better than he is now? I don't watch kraut football so I have no idea.

Even with a lack of pace, presumably he could fill Carrick's shoes. It's not like Carrick is shit off a shovel either.

If we're doing this thread from April now that means it's live for 6 months of the year :)

So that's gundogan, Hummels and Depay in one window.... We have a hell of a sumer to look forward to!

So weird that deal being agreed now. What's the rush?
Dortmund usually do their business before the season ends. They even include a deadline in their release clauses, which is why we had to buy Götze in April, midway through the run-in. The release clause had to be triggered before May. That way, they have time to find a replacement and can buy a new player before the team starts pre-season. Makes a lot of sense in my opinion, a lot more than waiting until the end of the transfer window and getting a player who missed several weeks of training and the first few games of the season.

Just used that Squawka site to compare his play this season to that the year before his injury.
He's actually made more forward passes and nearly doubled the amount of chances created and key passes per game this season in comparison to 2012/13. It's actually his defensive game that has suffered, with him making less tackles, interceptions etc.
Will be interesting to see what role they have in mind for him at United.

If he plays as in this season, then Herrera would be easily a starter, with Gundogan being a good cover. If he goes back to 12-13 form (or better) then he will be our main midfielder by some distance.

With his range of passing, do you think he could fulfil a DLP role? If there's one manager who would try it, I presume it'd be LvG (see Schweinsteiger).

You'd think if we're in deep negotiations for Gundogan, then if Hummels was on the table it'd be discussed (and agreed) at the same time.

What was his injury that kept him out of last season? and how much has he played this season?

Nah lads I'm done

We all know that in the end we'll sign one of the three. Late on deadline day.

I wonder whose thread will be longest by that point?

And you've not even included Danny Ings

Y'all minds are still stuck in the pre-lvg time.
We will get every single one of those targets.
I am of the opinion Hummels and Depay have already signed.

It's just hit the SSN ticker. Sky Sources are lagging roughly 3 light years behind everyone else as per usual.... It's so on though.

His range of passing is as good as prior injury IMO. His athletism on the other side, is an another matter.

No idea if LVG can schweinsteiger him. If his physical form will get back to his best level, then yep, it is a good possibility that he can becom a deep laying playmaker. Probably something like Pirlo/Alonso who while a defensive midfielder, will still control the games.

Yeah, that makes sense. However, as was seen with Gotze, it can also be a bit disruptive. I guess this means we will know about Hummels shortly as well.

The Hummels deal has been done for weeks.
He is as good as ours.

I was hesitant about gundogan because he is similar to Herrera and I wasn't sure if Dortmund would sell both him and Hummels at the same time but for £15m, we cannot go wrong
