İlkay Gündoğan Transfer Thread

We're United, we always give up 16 games before the end of the season..

And no club has ever got a top player having no CL to offer, so how can a club like United even think they of all clubs would manage to getting a new quality signing should they miss out on a CL place?

Would be a bit bold given he's been out for so long wouldn't it? Bearing in mind the last centre mid from Germany we bought was also just returning from a long lay-off...

feck Madrid, if you don't ask you don't get. I'd hope we're right in the mix for him regardless.

My detective work in the Mata thread...

Mata's with this agency http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/beratung-durch-familienangehoerigen/details/berater_1207.html
You'll recognise some of their other clients, like Mr Messi.
They're also DDG and Chicharito's agents and here's a relationship to ponder - Gundogan's as well.

Here's some muppetry for you. We've left people in London to sort out deals for Mata AND a 'European based midfielder'. ESPN are now saying we're doing a deal to sign Gundogan which involved Kagawa. Both Mata and Gundogans reps are the same people and are in London with our guys.

He's been out for months. Doubt we would sign someone who is iinjured, but then it may be for a summer move.

If it's true then it makes sense for us to move now and try to avoid an all-out battle for him in the summer, which we stand little chance of winning.

Seems like the most savvy thing we could do is snap up as many talents as we can now, also, just in case we don't qualify for the CL, it'd be prudent to have these guys locked down contractually prior to the eventuality.

That is class A muppetry. I like it!

Very nice detective work..

only that "Beratung durch Familienangehörigen" stands for "represented by a family member" :wenger:

but well.. maybe these people are all related to Gündogan and represented by his father..

Ouch!

feck! That's the last time I'm trusting jojojo's info.

Actually I realised after I posted it, that while Chicharito and De Gea are (or were) actually linked to the same management company (whether their "agents" are their dads or not) Messi's with a different gang. But by the time I realised that, and looked again at the listing, you'd added some background colour from ESPN and I was too depressed by our performance to do anything about it.

Once the Mata deal is concluded, United are ready to offer Kagawa to Dortmund as a part of a deal to bring Gundogan to Old Trafford (ESPN)

The above is all over Twatter currently. No sign of it on EPSN's website though..

Why would Dortmund want Kagawa now only to let Gundogan leave? They already signed 2 players that play in a similar position. Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang(out wide admittedly).

Ffs, i'm completely spent after Mata. More flaccid than a damp old sock.

Aubameyang is a striker though. I can't see it happening as Mkhitaryan was/is the direct replacement for Kags. Although Klopp has said several times that Kags could play in central midfield. /shrugs.

ESPN have been proven to be about as reliable with breaking transfer stories as a caughtoffside journalist on LSD.......Would be an endless orgasm though if we somehow by absolute fluke against all the odds ended up with Gundogan in january

Mkhitaryan has played in a deeper central midfield role for Shakhtar, so he could be moved deeper if someone like Kagawa needs to be fitted in.
