I thought Di Maria had left already:confused:
Have to admit although disappointing, I'm not too arsed about him leaving......
Anyway, just saw a headline in the Daily Fail saying that Di Maria is holding out for more pay from PSG and that's why the deal hasn't yet been concluded:confused:
Really don't know what's going on. Footballers are a pain in the arse:rolleyes:

Really? He was already getting 230,000 a week at United. How much more does the greedy toad need?

Seems like their offering less and he's holding out for £170,00 per week. But it's the Daily Fail and you can't quite believe what they say. In any case, if you really wanted to go somewhere, just make some sacrifices - it's not like he's one of us getting paid peanuts - even taking a bit of a pay cut would mean him earning in a week what most people will never earn in a year.

Well whatever happens I think it's now safe to assume he can't really be arsed. Not worth the fuss.

Or ten years if you're slaving away on minimum wage or stuck with a zero-hours contract. Talk about gold-plated problems.

The article says theyre offering him 170k a week.

I'm reading different that they lured him with a promise of pay hike:

L'equipe claims Di Maria earns €8 million a year at United, whom he joined from Real Madrid for €75 million last summer, though he is expected to increase that salary by signing for PSG.

If his heart isnt in the club then sell him on. Would love him to stay but its not gonna happen, wish him all the best if he goes and blame the wasters that tried to break into his house which has rattled his family enough to want to leave the country.

Pity it didn't work out. Not really bothered about him leaving though, he did feck all for us, and either wasn't suited to the league or just wasn't prepared to adapt. Either way we're better off getting rid. Pedro, despite not being as individually talented, would be an improvement.

He'll improve them but I hope people don't start looking at this like we made a mistake.. He doesn't want to be here and was shite last season basically. He was never going to be a success if he didn't want to be here or if he wasn't giving his all every game, same as any player. Best for all parties to let him go and replace him with somebody who wants to come.

LvG does take some of the blame, we never handled him in the way a £60m player should be handled. We seem to be doing everything to keep De Gea but the effort lacks with regards to di Maria.

quality player but that's ultimately meaningless if he doesn't want to play for us.

just hope we don't lose out too much from this sale.

De Gea has been our best player for the last few years, whereas Di Maria was absolutely shite for us. You say we didn't handle him the way you're supposed to handle a £60m player (whatever that means), but at no point -- 20mins against Leicester excluded -- did Di Maria play like a £60m player.

De Gea not in the side immediately weakens us, DiMaria not so much to the point he's borderline passenger

He's never played like a £60m player either. To be fair he's not going to end up as a £60m player as well.

can't wait for this to be over. good riddance. i don't associate him with united at all and have zero sentimental regard for him. was worth the gamble at the time, but it didn't work. no need keeping players like him around if they don't want to be.

quite a bit different from the rooney saga who at least played well for us.

I don't know, if he keeps moaning about lack of a match winner, Di Maria is the closest we have that is already on the team. Even in his much maligned Liverpool game he provided the key assist to Mata and set up Blind which lead to a penalty. We can do fine getting 3rd or 4th without him but if we want to win the league, LvG needs to find and integrate a player like that into the starting 11.

Glad this softie is gone. A few setbacks and he's running away. Don't need those type of players.

We shouldn't miss him. He did next to feck all for what we expected from him last season so losing him doesn't really seem to upset me much. Sure we're missing the POSSIBILITY of seeing the real Di Maria next season, but who's to say he wouldn't have the same kind of season?

That red card against Arsenal, and the pointless "feck it" long range shots he took annoyed the feck out of me. Actually preferred Nani to return, and I've never been the Portuguese' biggest fan.

Clearly never settled and I do empathize with what he and his family had to go through with the robbery, but he never really seemed "up for it" after his little honeymoon period. His attitude of just wanting to quit after one season proves that. We all remember that PSG were interested in him the same time we signed him. I'm sure quotes from him sounded as if he was PSG-bound but then realised that they couldn't afford him so he settled for us instead. Think his heart (or his wallet/lack of ambition) was always set on Paris.

Just get it done so we can get in a new attacker and put this behind us, as I am certain we wont get his replacement until he's officially a PSG player and the season starts in 2 weeks.

He did in the diamond, once he started playing him as a striker and winger it all went wrong tbh.

Yes, for three games? QPR, Leicester (45 minutes) and Everton. Then it goes to shite.

Are Liverpool and city laughing at us? It doesn't seem like everyone is ripping the shit out of us for this one, maybe because it's probably a safe move for us. It's a bit shit to leave after one season considering he is the most expensive player in our history but oh well. It wasn't like he was our player of the year or anything.
Regarding his future, I expect him to have one good season at psg but he will never rediscover that form from his final year at Madrid. That was world 11 stuff but I was never convinced he would reproduce that type of football anyway.

Either way the risk of having a very expensive flop has gone. He's psg's now. Move on and WE GO AGAIN.

Does is it even matter? Even if they are, a month from now, there will be something new to laugh at. Who cares what rival fans think.

Lol then he will play as a LCM, become world class and we will all be crying again

Exactly. I don't know who the feck LvG is going to get as a match winner as there are a handful of them in world football right now. Gutted that Di Maria is leaving and that both parties couldn't come to the conclusion of having another shot here
