Wow, you're genuinely making it sound as if it's United fault that he had a break-in.

No, I actually said these things happen.

None the less the club has a responsability to provide safety to him and his family considering his public image and wealth. Like I say, it just added fuel to the fire and gave him further reason to force the move through, which certainly seems to be the case.

Of course its the clubs obligation to provide the players and family with safety ffs!

United have a huge security operation at the club and to protect each of the players and their families. These things happen of course and it was United who most likely had advisers tell him to take the place that was broke into. From there they moved them on to another place with more security so I believe.

His family were put at risk, he is looking after them and any of us would do the same. Perhaps we were his second choice all along, this break in and his family being unsettled has just added fuel to the fire now and he seems to want out.

Uhm, yes, we probably did help him find a house in Manchester but it's not like we've moved him to fecking Hackney for shit and giggles. It was just a robbery and there's no wrongdoing from our side.

I didn't say it was the clubs fault, Sarni said its not our problem however.

Of course it is the clubs problem, hence the club fecking relocated his family! It had to be dealt with by the club and it was. They can't just wash their hands clean of it as Sarni suggested.

I think what Sarni said is that club couldnt do aynthing about him being unsettled cause of the burglary. And it's true. Club didnt wash his hands since they allocated him.

What I read from the list debate he had with Captain Hindsight was that the break in was not our problem.

It obviously is the clubs problem. It wasn't their fault of course, these things happen and they rectified it as best they could.

It's just given Di Maria more reason to kick off, sulk and demand a move to Paris.

Has he, did he, will he?
I wish someone would actually prove any of these assumptions

Who had a Twitter rant? Haven't read the thread

Not really a rant, but definitely a departure from good journalism by editorializing his opinion about AdM being unprofessional, without any hard facts as to what actually happened.

My bad, It seems he has.

As others have said as the season played out he was hardly putting in performances that could be considered justifiable of his fee. He didn't seem interested in trying to fight for his place, are these not forms of sulking?

We don't know yet why he missed the flight but seems odd that he has as there had been no indication of him possibly missing it. It's a bit like Sterling recently when he had to report back to training for Liverpool isn't it?

Yes but who is this person you speak off?? I haven't seen the tweets

That's ok as long as PSG sign the papers before finding out, then they can have a whole 'Weekend at Bernie's' type of situation when they present him to the media.
In that case he'd still play bett than he did for the second half of last season!

Not so sure about the first part, definite loss of form but the reason or reasons?
Although I really want him to stay if he deliberately avoided not joining up with the squad and forces a move out of the club, to PSG or anyone else, then yes I want him to leave as soon as possible but until that moment when I see the proof of that then I want him to stay

For fear of having my intended massive wall of text highlighting just what I think of this guy being torn to shreds in typical Caf fashion, I'm just going to call him a fanny instead.

He played most of the season either through the middle or as a winger. Occasionally also played in a free role up top as well which should have suited him but I'll ignore that.

Hes played in a midfield two with fletcher, LCM, RW, LW and as a foward. Hardly allowing him to settle.

Yep the break in, unhappy family, new country, new culture etc obviously played huge part in his loss of form.

Usually when this sort of thing happens it is ominous. Like everyone else I was excited for him and the season ahead, genuinely felt he'd go on to great things after Copa Ameria and a summer break.

Agree, felt the same way, but if he does decide to go to PSG, then it's another new country, another new culture, another language he probably doesn't speak

True and what if he experiences a break in / security alert there too?

Apparently, Di Maria has a torn hamstring and will be out for a month.

I'm guessing he'd have had three weeks off anyway for rest and recuperation following Copa America, so not as bad as it could've been.

He should still be able to play a reasonable part during pre-season and hit the ground running for the new season.

Torn hamstring or not I have said long ago the ADM never had the intention to play for us at all. His mind was set for PSG from day RM wanted to let him go.

Had PSG not been hit with the fair play rule he would have gone there instead of to us.

I think you're right, it's definitely an emotional reaction. I think people just crave expensive and luxurious items - something to show off and take pride in owning. Even though it's not as practical or functional as a cheaper, more common item.
I think it's certianly an emotional reaction. People are scared, that's all. No player is bigger than the club, Di Maria will be replaced. Maybe not this season but its only a matter of time.

can we stop with the free pass he gets with the break in? ((surely the most famous robbery in the history of the game now). He was in poor form before it happened and its now a convenient excuse for his poor season

The annoying thing is, with our apparent switch to 4231 and an apparent quicker tempo, that was the main reason he looked poor before.

The possession based game didnt suit him 1 bit, but I think in a counter attacking setup like against barca he could be back to his best.

I fear it's too late, but hope he will give it 1 more season.

Can someone tell me if he has now caught another plane to the US or is he still AWOL?

Can someone tell me if he has now caught another plane to the US or is he still AWOL?

Time to check all flights from Argentina to Chicago, and then call up the airline companies whilst imitating an angry van Gaal wanting to know whether a taller dobby lookalike was on the plane.

So its still not clear if he goes to PSG?
Would really love him at Bayern. Reals best player in the 2013/14 champions league.

But he was man of the match in the CL final! He's world class!

Interesting from LvG's latest comments, it seems like he wants Di Maria to stay but doesn't know what's happening since he missed his flight. I'd initially thought he was leaving with Van Gaal's approval.

So he doesn't even know what happened but gave a moral lecture...anything for those retweets
He's right though. Di Maria has had this flight planned for weeks? Unless the flight was cancelled (which it wasn't) there isn't really a valid excuse?. He's just dragging his heels because he wants to move to Paris.
