Ángel Di María | Transferred to PSG

I think we all know why he didn't board that flight, so he is still an utter Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime.

Nearly every sports media outlet in Paris, including the one owned by the owners of PSG, was reporting that a deal has been agreed for him a couple of hours before the match.

Do you not think it's much more likely that he didn't get on the plane because we've agreed to sell him than it is he's just not bothered showing up for his flight?

Extremely unprofessional and disappointing if he's decided to try and force the issue this way. I never understand why, if players REALLY want a move, they don't just submit a transfer request. I know they get a 'loyalty' bonus if they don't but i think if you really want to leave that bad then you forgo your loyalty payment. Did Sterling, after that whole saga, even submit a transfer request?

Think he sent Brentan a snapchat.

Or make him put transfer request if we are to give him some bonuses and stuff.
I have a feeling a lot of players forego these bonuses through private agreements with the clubs. It's just that it probably doesn't come out in the public.

Bonuses after one season? Wouldn't think so, well I hope not.
Ya I know. Won't be much plus we didn't win anything. We anyway take very simplistic view of transfer fees in general and rely on journos who understand feck all in finance. The bottom line in the end is that we need to make someone pay for di Maria's indiscipline.

The rival fan abuse is the thing that will annoy me most, suddenly ADM is WC again and we are complete fools, but that's how football works haha

1. I'm disappointed at the caf for not tracking their whereabouts sooner
2. i knew Di Maria was going to leave eventually but playing hide and seek? wow
3. Rojo must have a really dodgy passport.
Didn't Rojo have trouble coming over here in the first place because of some alleged attack with a bottle on a neighbour back home that was lying on his record?

I have no idea why people care what rival fans will say. I personally don't give a shit about it. It is not as if transfers fail at only United.

This, top clubs like Chelsea,Madrid,Barcelona and Bayern Munich sign top players that don't fit all the time and get rid of the them after a short period, only small clubs like Arsenal,Liverpool and City wouldnt understand that.

Yeah I guess, no fun walking into work though after saying 'how good ADM will be for us and is worth the money we paid'. More of a personal situation haha :(

Yeah. It's like the whole Pogba thing. You'd think, judging by the way some people talk, that Pogba never played for us again after being left out of the team on THAT faithful day where Rafa and Park were chosen ahead of him. He actually played after that, and also he was pretty poor that season when he was played. Yet all you hear is that Fergie should have practically given into his every request.

Mail saying we've put a discount on Di Maria masks, same as RVP and Falcao masks.

I don't know why but I'm crying laughing at this.

The level of muppetry, in all aspects, is overwhelming. That there are masks of the players faces, that the club thinks they will sell them by discounting them after they're gone or that it's investigative sports journalism has resorted to this is just too much.

Blood tests, fake agents, discount on masks, girlfriend instagram.

Not sure I understand this really.

1) LvG was a big Di Maria fan and mentioned him a few times as a player he would like well before we signed him
2) His initial performances were great
3) He recently said he wanted to stay and win things at the club (why say it if you don't)
4) He has 4 years of his contract left - why sell him for cheaper or even at all?

LVG also signed Valdes and then quickly decided he didn't fit in with the philosophy either. LVG is just in muppet mode and if someone doesn't work out he just gets rid

It looks like he's a massive fanny. A spineless coward of a player.

That's probably why we're letting him go.

I still maintain that Di Maria wasn't signed by LVG, but LVG wasnt exactly against the deal either.

Agree with this. I can't ever recall LvG talking about Di Maria with any amount of enthusiasm around the time we signed him. It was probably Woody trying to throw a couple of bonus attackers into the mix at the last minute.

Wouldn't think any of the posters on here would jump to conclusions without knowing any of the facts , or would they?

Kneejerk reactions are pretty standard around here. Any excuse to fly off the handle and say something vaguely ridiculous.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if AdM hired Carlos Tevez as a travel agent.

I reckon we may as well move this to football forum because he is as good as gone. I am not very disappointed to be fair, I liked his performances for the first couple of months but it went downhill from there and towards the end of season he was just abysmal.

Hopefully we get a big fee for him. Disappointing, but not all that surprising based on the shit attitude we seen from him last season.

Last year, in his last game for us, he went down and sat on his back side during the game and just gave up. Apparently it was a hamstring injury.
In comparison, an opposition player had been gashed by Fellaini (Fellaini got a red card for his effort), but that player played on.
For me, when I saw the 2 incidents, I felt that Di Mara had no interest in playing for MUFC and would leave, given the opportunity. I still dont know if this is the case.

The simple fact is that his style of play (like Falcao's) is not suited to the the English league. When he was playing in the FA Cup against the low league teams, he looked totally out of his depth. No doubt, he expected to be able to create/score numerous goals against them, but when this didnt transpire, he must've slept that night thinking that the English teams are tougher than anything he'd experienced to date.

Anyway, if Di Maria does leave, I wish him the best and I hope it works out for him at PSG. He'll be working with Ibrahimovic, so I expect him to make plenty of assists.

Given van Gall's obsession with planning and exactitude, Rojo not missing the flight due to "a passport issue" seems to me significantly more "unprofessional" than Di Maria not getting on the flight . How far in advance had this tour been arranged? Surely to feck a club of this stature should have this sort of basic administrative detail covered long before the tour started.

You should care when it is the most expensive player in pl history. This is a feckin shambles of the highest order and I hate everything about the whole mess,

There was a post a few days ago that sums up my thoughts on this bollox to perfection. I think it was by @Chesterlestreet

Yep, always thought he was a twat. This confirms it.

I agree, the whole thing seems strange.
I wonder if the pair of them didnt get drunk somewhere and rather than meet with LVG hungover, they thought it best to miss the plane and arrive on a later flight.

He specifically named him as being the type of winger United needed. I suspect he was very much in favour of the deal but the breakdown happened because ADM wasn't happy in Manchester.

People trying to not blame the manager at all when he's got to take some responsibility. Not least for saying he's the type of winger we need, despite him always being very inconsistent, and then not picking out wide once in his first couple of months at the club (which was his best period of form, in fact his only period of form).

Wasn't even that long he was good for.

He has legal issues in Argentina, maybe the U.S declined his VISA request.
