First off, would United really offer Kane just under £400k per week (because that's what tripling would involve)? I doubt it.

Secondly, even if you did - and even if Kane wanted to leave (highly doubtful) - Levy simply wouldn't sell. If there's one transfer across the world which is 100% guaranteed not to happen, this is it.
We could pay just under 400k for a top class striker, we pay some crazy wages. Its clearly not happening though and anyone who genuinely thinks this is going to happen is on full time muppet alert.

Diego Costa is available. He would do well with the other Chelseas' reject Matic

This is dragging on a bit. Maybe Morata needs to issue a come and get me plea? If that fails he could always rock the Bernabeu by handing in a transfer request.

You seem pretty sure that he's not signing for us and Sanchez is all but a City player, how do you come to that conclusion?
City will pay up £70/80M for Alexis. United will not pay £200M for Kane

Probably what this needs, but honestly I don't think he'll ever do that. He's leaving because he wants playing time, but I do think he does care about Madrid and doesn't want to leave by throwing a tantrum (some players still have class). I still think its happening and both clubs are still just trying to get the best deal.

why? he doesn't have a 3rd of their talent. at 23, Ronaldo and Messi were better than every player on the planet. I get what you mean though. No point sitting on money when we have a position to fill, but obviously clubs need to weigh up opportunity costs (lack of remaining budget for other areas). Morata would be nearly half our budget as I don't believe we have more than 200 million to spend. Morata should cost 50 million. It is what it is though.

I was actually being sarcastic. :D

There are plenty of strikers who score important goals for their teams. Let us try to sign them all for 100m, at least one player will agree to join us.

I'd rather take someone who scores important goals for a team that has just won the CL for two seasons running.

Has he been back there 2 years? I though this was his first season recalled back to RM after his (extremely successful) season long loan at Juve finished.

He was at Juve for 2 seasons

How many important goals has Morata scored for Real Madrid in the last 2 years in CL? Maybe @roonster09 can help you with those stats.

You really are a rare piece of art. Stupidly mock someone for the fully accurate and correct post in which he easily proved that all those talking about him not being important in La Liga is bs. All that, bearing your even more stupid reply to it.

I'm sure he or anyone else will go through stats again for you. What is funny, his CL stats is one of the more impressive things about him. Google might help you if you're interested which I doubt.

I am genuinely interested in how many important goals Morata has scored for Real in the CL. I can find stats about how many goals he has scored, but I don't know if they are important or unimportant, I am not intelligent enough to know the difference.

This season for Real Madrid, in La liga he opened the score 3 times, scored the winner once(hat-trick). In CL he scored the winner once, againt SCP.

I think Morata could potentially thrive at Utd as a first teamer but there is a big risk with him, he's certainly a very good player. Worth 80mill? Todays 80mill is yesterdays 30mill.
If he helps us win things, I couldn't give two fecks about the price.

Need at least two attackers though, Sanchez however unlikely is who I think Utd should chase.

If Utd can get Morata, a winger & DM then I'll be confident of improving on last season. Whether that's enough to win the league is very dependent on if the current attackers step their game up. Mhiki/Martial need to have a much better season and I think the former will (struggled in his first season at Dortmund) the latter has the ability but needs to push on now. We should be patient with all of our youngsters. Especially when you consider how erratic this team has been the last few seasons, relying entirely on Rashford/Martial under Van Gaal is not what Utd should be doing as youngsters are typically inconsistent, find me a youngster that wasn't.

Hopefully over the next few years, Utd can stabilise to the point they aren't desperate for signings every season.

80m is a lot of money even today. There isn't a all lot of players going for that kind of price and Morata even if he is a good player isn't close to be worth it. Now the real question isn't if he is worth it in the current market, but if he is able to provide us what we lack and if someone else maybe cheaper can do the same.

As someone who is familiar with French football, would you (and I know he's not a Mourinho type of striker) rather sign Lacazette at the reported 53 million Euros Arsenal are getting him for or pay 70/80 for Morata?

That's my issue. For that price -or not much more- we can get almost anyone. So let's go for someone who ticks all the boxes. TBh Morata isn't my biggest beef. That has to be Perisic. Imo, Morata and Perisic is not enough goal threat for the money touted. However, Morata and Dembele would change my feelings toward our overall goal threat quite dramatically.

He's Real Madrid 2nd highest goal scorer and still very young. Real Madrid is no rush to sell him and probably don't want to sell him. It's not surprising with the fact that they are only willing to sell him with such a ridiculous fees. I think the initial fees 60m pounds from the rumours is probably considered to be reasonable price at max in today's market in my view. If Real wants 70m pounds then just try to do negotiation like using bonus or something if he can score 20 league goals next season.

I can see that Real is willing to sell him if we can meet the price they ask for and they will use the money and double it up to sign Mbappe for his replacement. Personally, I think Morata's asset isn't only about scoring goals but also his overall play is very good which is why he's more favourable in Jose's view than Lukaku.

I'm keen to see him with United shirt next season. Martial, Rashford, Morata, Pogba in the team. Four young talented players with pace. This is going to be very interesting.

i wonder how long this will rumble on for? Nobody has any real info apart from their president who said no bids have been received !

In my opinion, they are close in terms of level but different, so it all depends on what the manager wants and I don't know what Mourinho wants. He used both players in the past Lacazette is more Benzema while Morata is close to Milito.

So, I'm torn.
