I think Zidane wants him to stay, and I wouldn't be surprised if he stays if he get the right guarantees from Zidane. Time will tell.

If they don't get Mbappe, they will certainly try to convince him to stay. Alternative for us is to pay that almost world record fee.

This one will drag a little bit more imo.

That's my point exactly, if he is was that good he would have at least started most of the matches for Juventus. He has never been the main striker at any club, if he crumbles under the pressure of 80m then the pressure will be on Mourinho.
Do remember he was younger at the time of Juventus, not definitively saying anything about his ability but people forget he is only still 24, which would've made him 22/23 for juve.

Yeah probably. Personally I don't think Real wants Mbappe this window. I think they would prefer to continue with this strikeforce, and add Mbappe next window or window after next.

Mbappe is a huge talent, but I don't think bringing him now will improve Real Madrid. They absolutely don't want any other top clubs buy him though so if their hand is forced I think they will pounce.

But ideal situation for them: Morata stays, Mbappe stays at Monaco for another year.

Just my opinion.

First we're monitoring the situation before making a concrete decision on whether to prepare a concrete offer.
Don't get too ahead of yourself.

Nobody has been tracking private jets from Madrid to Manchester? And no one at Carrington or Manchester airport to see if he's on the jet?

Even the toughest muppets are getting bored!

He's almost certainly on our radar, we'll monitor the situation, pursue our interest and then prepare an offer...and then another club will swoop in with a late bid and compound our misery in what has been a frustrating window for mourinho.

I am guessing this will be announced within a week, we're leaving for the US in 10 days and no doubt Mourinho will want the new players there.

Fingers crossed, the more time the squad get together the better.

We're planning a concrete proposal first.

So you are telling me there is definately a chance...we are monitoring?

That is enough for me to say MorataON! Cya on deadline day then! :D

Then let's not buy him, in fact let's not buy anyone because everybody is going to cost more than someone on an interweb forum thinks he is "worth". We simply cannot get a good/very good striker at the price you're suggesting. Not Morata, not anybody at all.
The flip side to this is lets over pay for everyone, we paid 30m for Fellaini so feck it. It's foolish spending like that and it's similar to naievety like saying we have incredible financial power that causes us to be fleeced on price when both buying and selling players.

I really hope this is hanging around because we refuse to pay the rediculous amount quoted.

Worth = what the two parties to a transaction deem acceptable. Sitting on the outside, frankly, it's bizarre to discuss this.
Some people here think Lukaku is "worth" more...and others feel Ronaldo isn't worth more than 30 Mn (I kid you not; this was on the Ronaldo thread).
It's all relative and I don't think professionals like Woodward are in the business of getting bent over and shafted if there are alternatives available.
In the end, if the managers and the club bosses of both sides accept that a fee is "acceptable", that's the worth. Simple as.

PS: Some people don't think it's worth it to spunk money on a Lamborghini, while others would do it without a though. Similarly, I don't think poisoning myself with colas is "worth" even getting paid for, but people actually pay to do it. Who's to argue what's correct? Same principle applies here. It's only worth what the parties to the transaction think it is.

No Morata scored some very important goals this season.

Scored first goal in 2-1 win against Celta
Scored winner in the 83rd min against Bilbao
Scored goal against Alaves when it was 2-1 to make it 3-1
Scored first goal in 3-2 win agaisnt Deportivo
Scored first goal in 2-0 win against Espanyol
Scored winner against Villarreal in 83rd min (3-2)
Scored 3 goals against Leganes in 4-2 win
Scored equalizer against Sporting Gijon (3-2)
Scored first goal against Deportivo in 6-2 win

That's 11 out of 15 goals were very important.

His "adding to the tallies" were 4 goals.
3rd goal vs Sociedad in 3-0 win
3rd goal vs Leganes in 3-0 win
3rd and 4th goal vs Granada in 4-0 win

In Champion league:
Scored winner against Sporting Lisbon in 95th min (2-1)
Scored 3rd goal vs Napoli to make it 3-1 (it wasn't as important as Madrid were leading in aggregate goals)

11 of his goals in the league were as starters, so he isn't exactly "super sub"

Nice post.

Yep but it won't stop know it Alls from spouting the same erroneous rhetoric

Looking forward to Morata tearing it up in the prem and finishing the season as golden boot winner.

The naysayers will be distraught.

Couldn't agree more. The notion that we should pay whatever clubs ask us to pay just because we are "the richest club in the world" is preposterous. We may be rich but so are other clubs. It's not like we're backed by an oil rich country. I'm all for paying only reasonable fees.

Yes in an ideal world that would be the smart thing to do, but not in Perez's world. He would want to make some glamorous signing this summer. They have the most stable squad across Europe and yet this moron Perez wants to make signings for the sake of it.

I assure you that naysayers, including myself, would be ecstatic if he's even competing for golden boot at the end of the season. Just because a fan doesn't want a player doesn't automatically mean he loves the club any lesser.

Maybe the jet was empty and it's there to pickup someone who is heading to Madrid.

:nervous:

That's a false analogy. Thinking it's worth it to buy a Lamborghini is not comparable to overpaying.

Haha, yeah I guess I haven't accounted for Perez or their need for a new toy. However, I think he does trust Zidane, and I think Zidane would rather keep Morata while Mbappe stay at Monaco for another year, so I'm still edging towards Zidane wanting to convince Morata to stay, if he will be able to do that remain to be seen, and I think a lot will depend on what Morata wants and how hard he pushes. They won't keep an unhappy player if it means 70-90m Euro or whatever the price could be.

Well I'm pretty sure his Mrs will be pissed off with him for wasting his time by cutting his honeymoon short seeing as nothing has happened! Oh wait that was typical media bull poo

Real have completely iced all transfer business (in and outgoing) until next week (scheduled talk beetween Perez and Ronaldo). Talk will be held Monday or Tuesday.

Enough with the private jets already. Seriously its Manchester airport, they probably receive a stupid amount of inbound private flights a day.
