Strange to hate him. Very exciting player and has the potential to be world class. They should atleast give him a chance, because the deal is done. Good thing most of us see him as a good signing.
 are you still persisting with this nonsense even after the Griezmann debacle? Everyone knows you're full of shit now, you can stop.

If we was talking Lukaku I would agree.

Why is it such a crime to call him the Spanish Danny Welbeck.. not being funny but Arsenal fans could have said the same thing you did, except add if we can keep him injury free.

Hope he realises his potential here, hope Mourinho can get some fight out of him too, he's going to have to be aggressive.
Much different players really. Wellbeck was never really known for his finishing, whereas Morata is an excellent finisher. Morata also has a reputation for being good in big games and at big moments.

Surprised with the amount of negative comments. Each to their own I suppose.

I think being the main striker he'll be perfect for us

Mata and Blind will be gutted, they're about to be flattened in the most handsome player department. Think he'll be the perfect striker for Mourinho to be honest. I don't know why people are getting salty over Lukaku, his goals this season are the difference between Everton finishing 7th and them finishing 7th, he only scores when the pressure is off and everything is going his way. Morata is the opposite, proper clutch big goal scorer and he's ready to be a starter for a big club.

They were talking on Talksport this morning about the PL now want a 7.45 k.o. on a Saturday night because of viewing figures going down. That more people might watch then. Rather than the Friday night experiment.

Interesting.

Well, like the Muse song says, "an economy based on endless growth is unsustainable."

But hey, in the mean time, Morata eh? £136k per week doesn't sound too big of a wage nowadays.

If we would be buying Neymar we would see comments about stopping the development of Rashford and Martial.

Don't like Muse. Did they really work that into a song?

Until the tax is added on that we will supposedly pay for him and some are losing their shit.

Definitely true.

His champions league run with Juventus comes to mind scoring 2 against Dortmund, 2 against Real Madrid and 1 against Barcelona in the final.

Can someone tell me what the feck 'clutch' is meant to mean? Am I too down with the kids or not down with the kids enough?

I always associate it with baseball, being a clutch hitter.

Cheers. Sounds like just what we need; surprisingly enough, Ibra didn't always come up with the goods at the key moments last season, particularly the key moments that would've turned 1-1 draws into 2-1 wins.

Performing on the biggest stage, when your team needs it the most. Could be any big game, a derby, a final, a must win game etc.

I can only associate clutch with basketball. Always hear this when i tune into the NBA
I watch baseball, so I hear it there. They say it when someone is in scoring position and is brought home to score a run. People who hit grand slams, score walk off homeruns. Basically anyone who can score an RBI.

This transfer is beginning to whiff of the usual summer bullshit transfer saga that we seem to get embroiled in every summer e.g. Gaitan, Vidal etc. The club have said nothing about it, the player hasn't mentioned us directly as far as I can recall. Utter nonsense all of it.

The club said nothing about Lindelöf either

When have the club mentioned anything about transfers?

I always associate it with baseball, being a clutch hitter.
The original 'clutch' word was from cloke/claw of an animal and meant a tight grip e.g. in the clutches of an eagle. This was also the origin of the automotive use, from how the engine/transmission is gripped and reflects in such usage like the 'clutches of death'. Essentially it was used to describe gripping something tightly

The usage in regards to high pressured moment, seems to come from the notion that in such moments people are said to feel a 'tightening in the chest' as if their heart is being gripped/clutched, i.e. high pressure moments = clutch moments. It was most likely popularized by american sports with baseball being the culprit.

A clutch player/person can then be said to be someone delivers in clutch moments i.e. he performs well under high pressure. This is usually a desired characteristics for star players as you want you best players to perform at their best when it is needed most

Getting a bit impatient, ha ? Since when players say their destination before it's official ( except Zlatan, of course ).

If Howard Nurse says theres nothing firm, I expect it to be announced within the hour
