We were playing Valencia and Young. They're two of the worst players at the club these days, of course we looked shit.

We started with Young, which was as anyone could predict, a fecking disaster. Valencia didn't start although he probably should have done, it was Giggs doing his usual party tricks of picking the wrong pass time and time again.

Mesut Ozil is the complete opposite, he makes the right pass time and time again.

Almost breaking the league transfer record for a luxury buy who would get in the way of Kagawa's acclimatisation, hinder the development of a couple of very promising young players and wouldn't even play in his favoured position very often would be the height of transfer muppetry, lads. We're not going to spend that kind of money on a position we don't need improving.
It's a real sign of intent for Arsenal but it now means Cazorla is permanently pushed out wide which has already seen him become much less influential. Suárez is a cock but he would've been a far better signing for footballing reasons.

He's with the German nationalteam because of the world cup qualifiers this weekend. And Müller-Wohlfahrt is not only Bayern's doctor but also head of the medical staff of the nationalteam. I think he's well known so Arsenal will trust him, I guess and they have to do the deal quickly.

I see. Anyway well done to Arsenal I suppose, they're among the least hated clubs in the PL for me.

I can't believe what I'm reading here. Ebeneezer Wenger finally opens his safe and apparently the propaganda he & his board have fed their fans for nigh-on a decade is forgiven and forgotten...because of a single shiny new signing. They must be laughing up their sleeves; they certainly would be laughing at our fans if they read this thread. And regarding United: since when are our managers judged after a grand total of three league games & a single transfer window?

So do we think all the comedy with Arsenal (at least this summer) was all set up for this? Drive all the rumours forward but save the money and spunk it on one huge player after a club brings in a big player?

HAH Jesus Christ Arsene! This will absolutely crush their image and while doing so also burn a hell of amount of cash. He's is too slow and too weak for England and playing him with Cazorla makes no sense what so ever.. He hasn't even scored that much in La Liga and still spend that money for him?!? Think of the Arsenal squad as a whole and what kind of improments they could had done to it(if this goes through) with the 40m.£..

And it is clear how you know feck all, congratulations sire.

So what happened to if a player of that quality is available we go for him whether we need him or not, which is pretty much what SAF said about RVP. And a luxury buy getting in the way of Kagawa? Just what has Kagawa done for us so far? He could well end up a huge flop.

Christ when I look at the dross served up at Anfield yesterday, the complete lack of any imagination in the final third.....letting a player of his creativity pass us by just seems bizarre to me. Fair enough a couple of top-drawer central midfielders are essential but come on.....Ozil? Players like that don't become available every day, it's a rarity.

I think the creativity would have come yesterday had we decided to take it to them. We seemed frightened to push on, passing was poor, slow and too often in the wrong direction. We didn't show the mettle to break down the wall of scouse that lay before us. Rooney, despite his issues would have made a big difference yesterday. We needed a scrapper in the middle as much as we needed creativity.

Why is he supposedly having his medical in Munich ? Some special deal with Arsenal and Munich's doctors ?

Supposedly has to shoot a commercial today in the Allianz Arena today so easier to do the medical in Germany if terms have been agreed.

I actually think Özil fits Cazorla quite well. Cazorla is way more direct and loves to come inside, while Özil loves to drift wide and drag players out of position. With a wide forward on the right who makes runs into the box, I think it's a brilliant setup to get the best out of Cazorla and Özil while creating space for their forwards.

I love the rustling of jimmies in the morning.

The rumours this morning about United enquiring about Ozil reminded (the 'z' in the fupping laptop doesn't work!) me of the joke email about Spurs' potential bids for players of world class standard, but with no apparent drive to actually get them. The email continues with Wenger complaining that Arsenal could not compete to potentially bid for any player with Spurs potentially bidding them out of the market. Its not funny now.

We didn't need a scrapper we needed someone to open up their lines with some creative balls. We shouldn't need to bulldoze our way through.

He certainly would have improved us. But with Kagawa and Rooney in the squad, the question is whether the amount by which he would have improved us would be justified by the cost (40 million plus a very hefty salary). I'm on the fence about this to be honest. I know he's good, but I don't think he's so much better than what we already have in his position (i.e. playing just behind the main striker).

I've watch him since Werder and trust me on this: He's a bust.

And as for the money aspect: Last summer we got Kagawa+Powell+Zaha(january)+Büttner+Henriquez FOR THE SAME AMOUNT!

He was available at a good price, I suspect that was key. Ozil's available in the same way Bale or Cavani were available - for record-breaking fees.

He would do if we signed Ozil. I don't think Moyes is ready to send him to the scrap heap as quickly as you are. We've got quality there now and we've got quality there for the future - if we're looking at improving any attacking position it'll be out wide. Despite people's obsession with these fancy AM's we're going to continue playing wingers. Adding Ozil would marginalise Kagawa or send us down the City route of playing too narrow and looking similarly ineffective and dull. Ozil's not so much better than Kagawa to be worth it and we won't ditch wingers.

And you think this lot equates to the same quality as Ozil does? These are youth products which will take years to become great players, and these all above may never become world class players, Ozil has.

Now Ballague telling a story about United ringing about Bale last night. This is like John Delaney ringing FIFA to get Ireland added as a 33rd country in the WC after Henry's handball.

Sz/Viviano

Sagna Mertesacker Koscielny Vermaelen

Wilshere Ramsey

Walcott Cazorla Ozil

Giroud/Podolski

Have you actually seen Ozil play in the last couple of seasons, and have you seen Rooney last season....

Rooney is a striker, not a proper attacking midfielder ! Kagawa would do better than him and is as close to Ozil as we have in the team, but we don't know how to use him and we rather put him on the bench and play Welbeck there.
