That was because he was having to do all of the hardwork/running to cover for Ronnie etc. He won't have to do that at Arsenal.
He's also the one with the most assists in Europe over the past 3 years. So yeah, good luck in England against the mighty Palace and Stoke...
I am so sad about this. I understand that we couldn't get Ozil the first time because you can't really compare to Madrid, when they want someone, they get him but this is a new low. I know we have Kagawa but are we really in a position that we can overlook someone of Ozil's quality?

Exactly. People are obsessed with creavitit coming from central midfield when we could easily solve that problem by signing someone like Ozil and putting two solid midfielder on the base of 4231. We don't need a Fabregas next to Carrick if we have a strong core at attacking midfield.
Özil is a fantastic little player, make no mistake, he will be a huge success for Arsenal IMO. But we have Kagawa & Rooney in his position plus Adnan coming through, so I can definitely see why we didn't go for him. CM is our issue, and if there are no enforcements in by midnight, we'll be in trouble. Bringing in Özil would've been a luxury IMHO, despite him being excellent. Sometimes you have to take a look at our youngsters too, personally I don't like to see another Pogba case in the near future.
For feck sakes, where on earth is Ed Woodward? We might as well re-sign Phil Neville and be done with it!

To be realistic I can't see us forking out £40m+ for anyone, no matter how good they are. We don't think any player is good value if they are anything above £31m+
Christ when I look at the dross served up at Anfield yesterday, the complete lack of any imagination in the final third.....letting a player of his creativity pass us by just seems bizarre to me. Fair enough a couple of top-drawer central midfielders are essential but come on.....Ozil? Players like that don't become available every day, it's a rarity.

Hell Moyes even prefers Welbeck playing on that position instead of Kagawa and Rooney is more injured than not, and he is not near as good as Ozil in that position. Adnan is 18 years old and isn't even making the bench.... !

Him and Cazorla will be a devastating inside-forward combination. It makes sense for Wenger to save his kitty for a player who is classy enough for any team in the league, is a clean fit and represents reasonable value, rather than fritter it away on flavour-of-the-month types like Ashley Williams.

He's with the German nationalteam because of the world cup qualifiers this weekend. And Müller-Wohlfahrt is not only Bayern's doctor but also head of the medical staff of the nationalteam. I think he's well known so Arsenal will trust him, I guess and they have to do the deal quickly.
