Can anyone come up with a logical reason as to why we shouldn't be jumping at the chance of signing one of the most creative players in the game? Arsenals summer just got miles better than ours. This one signing will elevate them well ahead of spurs for me.

Possibly Rooney (looks like he is staying) & Kagawa who play in similar positions? Your priority IMO should be a CM & LB, so maybe the club want to blow their budget on that?

I don't think United need Ozil; as you say, we're stacked in his position. The disappointment comes in because we see even Arsenal making a splash while we stand on the sidelines.
As things stand, the club is letting Moyes down big style. He should've received big backing from the club after replacing SAF - instead, we've done nothing while our rivals have all strengthened.

I see Ozil as one of those "too good to miss out on" players. Players who can push a team up a level. When we got Rvp last summer we had Rooney, welbeck and Hernandez,all good at playing right up top. Besides,I think kagawa can do a great job on the left anyway. What I feel is that we lack technical quality going forwards. Kagawa and nani are the ones behind Rvp that have got it in abundance but the latter has fallen away completely anyway and the former hasn't settled in yet. Ozil would instantly make us more fluid and creative.
Also, don't arsenal have enough AM types anyway! R

Like us I think your club has targeted the wrong players. We went after Suarez but after no valid release clause weren't willing to force the issue. Your lot went after Cesc when IMO was clear as anything he wouldn't join and wasted a lot of time and effort on that deal. Herrera will be a good player if you can pull him off but unlike someone like Fellaini might need time to settle in. I think you'll bring someone in today though
We have a few CMs but apart from Cazorla no genuine attacking and creative threat from midfield. While he may be top class you need to address the issues in your squad first. Would be poor planning by the club if you sign Ozil but lack of CM leaves you exposed.
RvP IMO was bought as Fergie knew the Rooney issue would flare up, there has been talk for a while that all was not rosy and Fergie I think was making sure he won't hold the club to ransom again. Still can't believe we sold him to you lot, I don't know what Fergie said to Wenger to convince him, it will come out one day. You fecking bastards!!!
Don't go about giving me logic! I won't entertain logic when it comes to Ozil! Seriously, I think he's freakin awesome and I'd take him as a no.10 over Rooney or Kagawa.
On a more serious note, I think our wide options aren't great. Young and Valencia offer little going forward and Nani has been either injured or out of favor or not in form for ages now. So someone like kagawa operating as a inside wide attacking midfielder of sorts is something I'm thinking might be a good idea. Besides, I don't see why a trip of Rooney, kagawa and Ozil wouldn't work in behind Rvp. Or at least two out of those three alongside someone like nani who can bring a little wide play in.
More importantly, I think it will kill the need to have a really creative midfielder like fabregas. If we have Ozil as a number 10, you can get away with a solid midfield behind that passes the ball tidily and you probably don't need a Modric or fabregas behind.
Ditto. He's just too good to pass out on. The similar logic that was in play when we signed RVP last season. Too bad we are not going to sign him, but at least he's coming to Arsenal, will be good to see them giving it a proper go. Would much rather fight it out with them for the title than Chelsea or City.
Luckily for us Ozil would be going to a club that's going to be competing for 4th and not directly affecting us.

we need more technical players in the team. someone who have the guts and is brave enough to try and dribble into the penalty area rather than passing back to the defense.

Nah, arsenal are top far behind. They need maybe 3 top class players more.
