If he goes there, it'll be one of those we look back at the end of this season and wonder why in the name of feck we didn't go in for him...

He's a genuinely brilliant player and one of the best in the world at what he does, you can never have a shortage of those types of players.

Yep. Remember making the same arguments last season with RVP and how it wasn't a position we needed strengthening. When it's a world class player like RVP or Ozil, they just provide a lift to your team that others can't.

Competition for places at a club like United should be fierce, but our past couple of games have shown us to be lacking in creativity and that there aren't enough players hammering on the door of the current XI and forcing them to up their game. Ozil's position isn't one that we're particularly weak in, but I think there's little doubt that he'd improve us. I'd love it if we signed him.

Will be the marquee signing of the entire window if Arsenal and Wenger pull this off. Ozil will take this current Arsenal squad up a level and back into contention for the top 4.

Would prefer he joined United, but we are now well stocked in that position. Hope they pull it off, as he is a player we'd all pay to watch.
Think they already were contenders for the top four. Or the fickle media believe they aren't.

Not that Ozil signing will make them title challengers, but it should help them solidify fourth.

Can people stop saying it's done? It's giving me a coronary.

It's done with the clubs, but not with the player. He has other offers to consider.

Is that better for you?

It's done... the only thing we had this summer was that we could point and laugh at your lot.

Now that's been cruely taken away from us right at the death...

I think the fact that we just featured in a game where we struggled to create even the faintest of chances is making me more annoyed then I probably should be... but regardless, he'll be brilliant for your lot. Absolutely brilliant.

It isn't fair to Le Arse fans who have been promised the likes of Rooney, Higuain and Suarez and end up with Flamini in the end. This could be Wenger's funeral if he doesn't pull this one off.

Yeh, if it doesn't happen, I think the Emirates will spontaneously combust the next time we concede a goal there.

There is a possibility with Ozil that he could be this year's Robben or Sneidjer, but you can't buy them all.
Or any of them - unless you actually decide to bid.

Ozil is as close to Zidane as u can get, not same level but a true world class player.

Nah because they both went for an absolute bargain price, Robben was about £20million and Sneijder around £13million. Ozil going at around £40-45m isn't in the same bracket as those deals, its not a bargain.

I was talking about the system not the players, it lacked width and was nothing to really do with Nasri, no more than Silva or Aguero

Yeah and the system didnt work because Nasri didnt pull his weight.

No it didn't work because it lacked width and was predictable

Nasri didn't always play, and the problems were still there. They needed someone like Navas to rectify that and stop making them so predictable, City fans have been saying it for the past few seasons. It was an obvious issue when you watch them play.

Hope Wenger pulls this off. I like Wenger, he's a top footballing brain and seems like a decent chap. And with SAF gone, he deserves neutral respect as the elder statesman of the premier league. If he signed Ozil, it would also be a big 2 fingers up at his ungrateful and moaning fans!

There are no moaners tonite - we just fecked Spurs over la la la lala lala la la.....

Maybe Mourinho wants to snatch his former player from another rival club from London. You can't have enough attacking mids, right?

I thought our interest was paper talk...so that's hardly surprising. It probably all hinged on Rooney, though, now that he's staying there's no need to folk out that type of cash on a player who plays in a similar position.
The manchester journos - Ducker, Ogden, Mitten etc. reckon Ozil was offered to us by his father a couple of weeks ago and we weren't interested in pursuing it. From what Jojojo has told us from the Spanish media it's been the other way round and he rejected our approach (seems less likely now he's going to Arsenal)..

Nah, I've always said that the Spanish press knew the Madrid end of the story. In other words they knew we'd been approached. They knew we were interested. They were expecting a serious bid.

What I thought they didn't really know was how serious our interest was. Were we just fishing and listening or were we serious about bidding.

Given that it's Sunday night and we still haven't bid, I'm guessing we weren't that serious.

Maybe we were hoping for a discount tomorrow?

so the reason behind him leaving? Bale and Isco?? Is Isco really better than Ozil. I don't watch enough La Liga or Madrid to really know but from what I always seem to catch wind of is that he is statistically like their best player? bar Ronaldo of course

Isco has been spectacular since he arrived but it's very early days, if he can maintain this current form though...

Well, he's only just joined.. but he's 21, has been MOTM in 2/3 games so far and has 3 goals and 1 assist.

I think he'll reach Iniesta's level - definitely a chance he could be the world's best player one year, only Gotze is on his level for that age I'd say.

Was fantastic at the U21 tournament this summer, he really is a special talent. Not as proven as Ozil right now, I'm not sure he's quite as creative - but he'll straight away be a bigger threat on goal.

Thinking about it, he reminds me of Mata.

He's not slow, he's not weak and he's not going to Arsenal. This is just the finale of the Arsenal get linked with everyone who costs more than they've ever spent and wind up their own fans feature
