He'll move tomorrow, I'm pretty sure about that. Isco has been wonderful for them and with Bale occupying another spot behind Benzema there isn't really going to be a place for Ozil in the side and he's too good to play second fiddle.

If Arsenal get him and two or three decent squad players they'll be title challengers.

Wenger seemed quite pleased with himself as he answered the traditional transfer question from Sky after the derby - smug enough to suggest he's about to land Ozil? I hope not.

We should not let anyone else land Ozil at this point if we have little intention of making the most of Kagawa.

Cabaye and Benzema. He does love a Frenchie.

Edit..... or Mata.

Arsenal's resident ITK Geoff said that we were very, very close to a German international. Wenger's interview would imply the same. Let's hope this isn't hijacked, which it may well be.

I never heard Wenger imply a German international. You need a striker more than you need an AM. Benzema is more like it.

Draxler probably? Haven't you been heavily linked with him lately? He's a brilliant prospect as well.

twatter bollocks but hearing advanced talks with Arsenal. If we sit by and let that happen (which we will if it happens) ill be fuming. Hes incredibly talented and would do the business at Arsenal i feel

I think he's over-priced for what he is though. We've already paid lots for potential before. We need players with current ability.

Sorry - I meant Wenger's interview implied we were going to sign a big player.

I think Wenger's given up on the idea of a top CF so he's just going to try to help Giroud out by building a great attacking midfield.

All the rumours suggest he's joining either Arsenal or United, with more leaning towards Arsenal. I won't be surprised if that does happen. fecking unbelievable really.

I thought only pseudo-Russian teams from across the City did things like that? ;)

We wont get him and we don't need him

Basically loads of media outlets saying it now. Please God let this not be hijacked because people will quote my posts tomorrow and laugh.

What we need is to strengthen CM. We need a hardworking midfielder who adds steel and tenacity to our midfield and a quality play maker. We don't need Ozil unless we're selling Rooney.

We don't really need him but what a fun signing he'll be. He can take the place of Young and Giggs in our squad.

It's all good. We have Young and Giggs.

We also have Zaha, Nani and Valencia. Kagawa can play on the flanks and Welbeck can do a good job too. As linkmen we've got Rooney and Kagawa.

Our achilles heel is CM. FFS if Carrick picks a long term injury we end up with a friggin defender as his replacement.

This. x 1000000000000000000000000000000000

Seems a lot for a player who has two years left on his contract and wants out, especially with Madrid having spent a fortune this summer indicating they may need to offload someone. Still, would be a brilliant signing if you can pull it off.
3 years IIRC

Steel is so overrated. You can have a perfectly functional team, able of winning trophies without having so much steel in midfield.

I agree with that, though Ozil would be a great signing for us. Considering that Nani and Valencia have both been out of form for a season, Giggs is a hundred years old, Young is a bit shit, Welbeck has a stellar performance for every 5 bad/average ones and Moyes doesn't know that Kagawa is actually a United player, Ozil would come here as a starter and instantly be one of our best players.

Seriously, I am one of the biggest Kagawa's fanboys here but I think that Ozil is on another level. Wouldn't say no to him, regardless that we're well stocked there. At worst case, he should get the games of Young/Giggs which means that he would play 90 minutes for every game.

You're probably right. Who needs tenacious hardworkers like Ince and Keane when you can rely on Jones and Cleverley.
