Isco's Spanish and potentially better and he probably doesn't think too kindly of sitting on the bench frequently with intense competition for his spot in the Germany team.

Can anyone translate the article from German to English? Many people are stating that it does not confirm that a bid has benn accepted. In addition, I see that Skybet have only moved the odds from 5/2 to 7/4. If a fee was agreed he would long odds on by now.

Oh fcuk.. He's not worth 20 milj.£ but 38?!? We got better players in our squad right now and whom are familiar with the Premier League. He was being bullied in Bundesliga I think and now he is nowhere near quick enough to make up the physical margin, so to speak..

Why would Madrid sell Ozil?

I think with Isco and Bale coming in, then Ozil may have limited playing time. Not saying RM will sell, and I actually think it's the players agent looking for a bit of reassurance, rather than wanting a transfer, and using us in the process.

What?

Not sure if this is a troll post, but Ozil would easily be our best midfielder if we signed him and is clearly worth £40million in today's market.

He really isn't worth £38 million, added to the fact that he isn't what we need...thanks but no thanks.

You know some people said the same about RvP. Whether or not he is what we need, when a player comes available that could improve your first 11, then why not go for him?

We didn't 'need' RVP either. You don't turn down world class players if they become available.

Considering his age, ability, experience and even potential he's clearly worth £38million in today's market.

I didn't though. I was delighted we got RVP. I wouldn't feel the same if we got Ozil as I don't see where he would fit in and I think he would hamper the development of talent that we already have that just needs a bit of time and trust.

Opinions eh ?

Nah, not really. He was never the most physical player but being bullied is a exaggeration. He also has not played in the Bundesliga since the age of 21 and has added quite a bit of muscle since then.

38 Mil. pounds is around his current value on the market.

Ozil + Fellaini would be a fine window for us. The £60 million it would take isn't THAT much of a stretch either. We surely can afford it.

Ozil is not worth 38m?? That's dirt cheap compared to some of the prices so far this window

 What's the link between pace and physical strength ?

Seems most people who are against this signing are against it because we "don't need him" and the money could be better spent in midfield, but there are no midfielders left who are attainable within the next ten days who are remotely close to Ozil's level as a footballer anyway, so I don't see the sense in that argument. If, as likely, we're either going to sign Fellaini or no midfielder at all, then why not sign great players in other areas to ensure we can compensate for the midfield?

Couple in the fact Rooney will probably go if we bring Ozil. That means we would have heavily bolstered our midfield with two fantastic players for a net spend of £30million. Not too shabby.

Who is better in our team than Ozil?

Rooney won't go. Chelsea are the only club interested and it's pretty obvious we are not selling to them. Ozil + Fellaini is the best outcome we can hope for now in this window and it seems pretty hopeful to me that these two deals can go through. I think we'd all have taken that at the start of the summer... A £60 million spend for a club our size shouldn't be an issue.

I think he's class but I'd really love Kagawa being given a bigger chance to cement a place rather than bring in Ozil. He's potentially got a lot more end product and is more of a United style player than Ozil. Still I'd not exactly be annoyed if we signed him, he's amazing.

As much as I love kagawa. Ozil is better than him in many ways. Kagawa may provide more goals though. Right now I doubt Shinji is ready to take on the burden of playmaking on himself. He tends to disappear in the latter stages. Ozil and Kagawa together would be

Wouldn't pay over the odds for Ozil though, We are well stocked in that department.

Better than Carrick, Clevz, Kagawa, Nani, Valencia and sort of Welbeck, Rooney?? You sir are downplaying our team by a fecking mile..

Most those players don't even play in his position. The closest players you can compare him to are Kagawa (who he's currently better than) and Rooney who is at a similar level. Its nothing to do with 'downplaying' our team - Ozil is a world class player who would easily be one of our better players. No shame in admitting that, nor is it a bad reflection on us.

As good a player Kagawa is, Ozil is definitely class above him. If we get Ozil, that would be a terrific player to have in creative area, will probably the best creative midfielder in league. What I am worried about is though, the effect it will have on futures of Januzaj, Lingard etc. It is not like they have got birthright to play at United at senior level, but I hope they are given fair chances and if they prove themselves, they keep getting further chances to build on that. If they don't take the chances, we move on.

Y
I don't see any of them including as a genuine left-sided player of a front three. That's another issue altogether.

All are best as central or as free as possible
yep agree on that buddy would be good to get someone who is comfortable wide in the front three though

I don't think that Januzaj/Lingaard would be important or our team in this and the next season anyway and until then it is very possible that Rooney and at-least one of our three senior wingers wouldn't be at the club. Anyway the only possibility I can see Ozil coming here is as a direct replacement for Rooney and I would be happy if this happens. He's the best No.10 in the world IMO.
