As stated we need these 3 points badly but our away form is worrying....HOWEVER thank FUK this is the last thursday/sunday match of the season. the lads get a break/some rest finally after sunday and don't play again until the following saturday

Wet Spam have been leaking goals recently and we've been a bit inept in front of goal so maybe this will be a good combination for us in the attack

Just assuming we will win all 3 home games is incredibly risky. Need to get the win sunday. Anything else and things just tighten even more.

Unfortunately we've got one more. Chelsea on Thursday 25th, Fulham on Sunday 28th (last game of the season).

I could see us losing this, but still being fine for top 4 as I don't think we will lose again.

I think we will be alright. We tend to bounce back very well from indifferent results, but losing 1-0 to Brighton to last kick of the game is no disgrace, that can happen. But I think we shake the team up. Casimero, Eriksen and Bruno should all start, but I also think we may need Sabitzer in there for some legs and bite alongside Casimero. Maybe play Bruno out wide right. Thing is, we have one decent, powerful, effective forward (sigh).

I can't believe how good our recent form is against West Ham, I would've thought we've dropped points against them.

need a midfield of Case, Sabitzer and Bruno. Fred is crap. I'd play Sancho and Rash on the wings with Martial up top.

West ham are really poor, no midfield or attack. Should not ever be losing this.

id assume we see case/eriksen/bruno as the 3 mids. Rash/antony wide with martial up top. The first half against brighton we had more chances they had and shouldve easily scored 2-3 goals. Only one i really remember that Brighton shouldve scored easily was the turnover by lindelof that DDG stopped with his face.

oh hell...is that a rescheduled match? hopefully we have top 4 locked up by the time those two fixtures take place

This is going to be much harder that some might think. The London Stadium is exactly a happy hunting ground for us and we've had some shite performances against this lot. I guess they'll still be fighting for their lives but in al honesty there's no danger of them going down - the sides below them aren't all going to suddenly go on late winning runs.

We need to score first then go for the throat. I'd play Pellistri (Garnacho i ffit) and Antony wide with Rashford down the middle. Martial shouldn't even be within 100 miles of London

I know this is only westham but I remember under Fergie we would go away from home and the lineup and formation just gave the absolute intention that we are not here to lose.

These days we just set up the same home or away.

It's hard trying to remember a game we played tight and gave nothing away

I think this has contributed to our poor away form.

Pragmatism has to prevail sometimes, westham away has always been tough for us and I see another tough game coming

Agree about Martial, total waste of time . We have to start well but we also need to score early as we have struggled late in games for ages now . Just hope they have an eye on their semi final on Thursday.

Even though I'm not as much of a panicky pansy like some posters on here lately, (and some others who are seriously angry on here too, what's that all about?) I do agree that if we lose this match too it would make things to tight for comfort.

In saying that I think we'll win this, just need our players to finish their chances this time.

They are even more inept at scoring goals than we are, but we're nearly incapable of seeing out matches under pressure anymore even if we happen to score a goal here, so who knows.

Honestly at this point we just need to pray for Brentford to do a job tomorrow to take some of the pressure off.

Will be a bit of a slog. If we score first you can bet we start missing sitters to go 2-0 up and start giving chances away. If we fail to convert chances to go 1-0 up we risk another scoreless away performance like last night. If we go 1-0 down it could be another Sevilla. The only times we’ve stormed into a 2-0 lead this season we’ve ended up drawing 2-2.

a brentford result and then a united win would absolutely be massive. Unfortunately i dont see pool slipping up until maybe villa. That is the only matchup i think they possibly drop points on. West Ham is undeniably a must win. If we need 3 wins out of 4 under immense pressure to end the season i just dont see it happening.

We’ll play well in the first half and create a few good chances, then the exhaustion will take hold around 60 minutes again and we’ll end the game shakily and give them a few.

Whichever team scores more goals in that time is anyone’s guess.

I fully expect Liverpool to win every match they have now, but who knows, strange things happen in football. Maybe they'll give away a penalty in the 96th minute or something.

I saw West Ham v Palace
They are not a very good team but are very dangerous with long balls and set pieces
They may target Shaw for this one so we may need to bring back Maguire to help combat their aerial threat

nah even if that happens the ref himself will prob dive in the corner to make the save on the PK.

I bet the results dont bear that out at all. Just ask Liverpool.

Much rather play against a relegation threatened side who desperately need to win and have one of the worst defenses in the league. Way easier than games against teams in mid table with nothing to play for who have good defensive records.

But Chelsea don’t have a good defensive record, they’ve an awful record and are one of the worst teams in the league on current form. As for Fulham, I’d much rather play a Fulham side that have absolutely nothing to play for on the final day of the season than say if they needed a point to stay up. Motivation plays a huge factor for teams coming to old Trafford, we’ve seen it so many times, teams in the relegation area coming to old Trafford and playing out of their skin trying to get a result. Fergie himself pointed it out several times himself. As Fulham will be coming to old Trafford with nothing to play for I guarantee you their players will try, they’ll do their “best” but they certainly won’t reach the superhuman effort other lesser clubs have reached visiting here before.

Yeah a bit more rest should help us. And maybe a bit more prep time.

If we do not get a win here then the wheels would have really fallen off.

We will f*cking smash them. Enough is enough. Win this and I'm sure we'll pick 2 wins out of Wolves, Bournemouth, Chelsea and Fulham.

Only thing I fear is the pressure getting to players with Liverpool being just a point behind us at the time we start the game. But if we can't get 3 wins out of 6 at this period, no point qualifying for the CL too.
United smashing a team ? I''ll have what you're having

A must win even if our players are tired.
    De Gea
    AwB - Lindelöf - Shaw - Dalot
    Casemiro - Eriksen
    Bruno - Sancho - Rashford
    Martial

We played these guys twice at home and won but they were tight games when West Ham were at a low ebb and we were doing better. Now we’re at their place when they’ve picked up somewhat and we’re not looking good at all.

I’m really not sure where anyone is getting their confidence from. We certainly won’t smash them and Id probably take a point right now.

Jeez. What a state of affairs. I still enjoy it but it’s like a form of masochism.

    DDG
    AWB-Shaw-Lindelof-Dalot
    Casemiro-Eriksen
    Antony-Bruno-Sancho
    Rashford.

We really don't have much choice here as Ten Hag chooses to use only a very limited group of players. Would have liked to see Pellistri get a chance but its not happening. Hopefully we can see Garnacho off the bench in this one.

Maguire can't combat any threat. He's more likely to score an own goal.
    Shaw is good enough.

The idea that we will improve once we play once per week is folly.
I actually think playing 1 game per week will make us worse!

The best teams play 2 games per week and win regularly.
In 1999, we were playing 2 games per week and won every single game we played in that run into the treble.
Currently, we see MCFC winning every game they play and they are playing 2 games per week.

2 games per week is something that ETH should've planned for.

I do agree that our away form is dreadful and I see us drawing this match.
