    Among the worst teams to be playing this time of the season and better Man United teams than this one have slipped up in those type of games. It will be the usual dour Moyes v Man United match with a blanket defence tactics and them hoping to score via an error or set piece.

    Eriksen was probably rested with this game in mind. He'll play and will be key to us winning.
     
    I'd really love West Ham to roll over for us. Throw in 2 jammy own goals too.

    Guess you missed the round of 16 FA Cup match in March and the round of 16 FA Cup match in 2021

    They aren't nearly as good as Brighton though, are they? I expect we will see much more of the ball and create chances. Whether that means we won't eventually sh*t the bed is another thing altogether

    We tend to lose away games to top 10, not the bottom 10, so we're good.
     
    Going to be tough with the lack of rest and recovery in between. Players are flagging now and it’s going to be a long slog of a month to top 4. Really is a must win.
     
    We will f*cking smash them. Enough is enough. Win this and I'm sure we'll pick 2 wins out of Wolves, Bournemouth, Chelsea and Fulham.

    Only thing I fear is the pressure getting to players with Liverpool being just a point behind us at the time we start the game. But if we can't get 3 wins out of 6 at this period, no point qualifying for the CL too.

    So thinking Liverpool will win all remaining games (which look unlikely with how they're playing) we need to win 3 out of 6?

    Not really. We will still be a point ahead of Liverpool (that’s IF they beat Brentford) and we’ll have a home game against Wolves to make that a 4 point gap. Losing to West Ham wouldn’t be ideal, but we’d still be in the driving seat for top 4.

    Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it nonsense. We've qualified for CL by the skin of our teeth before and never really came close to competing in it. Yes, qualifying for CL will give us further impetus for growth but we're not in a position to completely overhaul the squad. This bunch needs to own up and deliver especially when the odds are in our favor. And I think we will.

    Night game too. Swear it’s always the same. Only good thing is that it’s not Upton Park any more, as I definitely reckon this team would shit the bed there.

    Mentally we wont be in the driving seat at all. And playing against Wolves, Chelsea and Fulham who will all have nothing to lose. Those sorts of games are far harder than games vs teams who are still fighting for something, as it always proves every season.

    If we're playing Chelsea and Fulham and the games have become must-wins, we won't win them.

    Where do you get that from? We are 5th in the away table. Considering that's zero wins against the top 9 teams (yeah, crap) it shows we should have no problem dispatching this lot.
     
    West Ham stink but this one still makes me nervous. They've got size to make set pieces dangerous. Will probably need 2 or 3 goals to get the win.
     
    All of a sudden my Scouse friends are making noise again. As much as I want us to secure top 4 asap , a last minute goal by Fernandes v Fulham to get top 4 would be fantastic.

    I completely disagree. Historically teams that were fighting for their lives have always been much harder to get a result against. Chelsea and Fulham will already be on the beach mentally and besides our home form is excellent anyway. I’ve a feeling neither game will be a must win anyway so don’t worry, we’re gonna be fine:)

    I bet the results dont bear that out at all. Just ask Liverpool.

    Much rather play against a relegation threatened side who desperately need to win and have one of the worst defenses in the league. Way easier than games against teams in mid table with nothing to play for who have good defensive records.
