I suppose it's tactical as we didnt hear any anything about a knock to martial beforehand. Maybe lingard for some defensive cover / freshness and then unleash martial in the last 30 against completely knackered legs.

Lingard in to play against Antonio. Rashford was crap against him last time but Lingard did better when he moved to the left. Hopefully Martial gets at least half an hour to build on his recent form.

This made me laugh. It's not like we're flying to the Ukraine. The boys are hardly going to get off the train in east London suffering from train lag. Both ourselves and West Ham had 2 days between games also since you're not getting a pretty simple fact, West Ham had to travel to and from Leicester after an away game in Swansea. We did much less travel over the Xmas period so to suggest that we're the ones at a disadvantage is ludicrous.

Jose has already benched him many times this season, clueless management and one of the reasons we are 6th

Don't take everything you read in a literal sense. Managers make stupid decisions all the time. Hopefully Jose has got a good reason.

Agreed. My only worry from that line up is Darmian. He needs to start showing some competence in both attack and defense, and quickly.

Martial injury possibility
Marouane Fellaini didn’t emerge for the warm-up last week against Sunderland but still came on in the game as substitute, so maybe Martial is nursing an injury from that late challenge he suffered against Boro. Fosu-Mensah is available if Mourinho has to make a late change to the 18-man squad.

Fellaini’s also not warming up.

No Schweinsteiger on the bench is a bit disappointing. I'd much rather see him come on over Fellaini to protect a narrow lead if we have one.

You can't get your head around the recovery time between 2 nearest game in 3 days? Look at L'pool and City. Both couldn't use their own usual pressing game. In L'pool case, they dropped point and could get worse. Burnley bottled it against 10 men City for second half. Anyways, hope you're right though despite I am in no way agreeing to that.

yeah everytime there's darmian or Fellaini I start little bit worry about our ambition but it won't take long, Shaw will be back and we will buy someone for better competition.. Pereira will come back next year too

Honestly cannot believe Martial is not playing. Jose being defensive again? I also think Martial is suffering from a lack of a decent left back. Jose knows we weak down the left so plays it safe. Still don't agree with the decision, Martial needs games to get him into form.
