    this lineup might be bloody tasty in 2019

    but in 2015, it's a bit sh!t.
     
    Only Martial and Mata having good games. The defence couldn't have been much worse and the Fellaini-Schweinsteiger combo is shite as expected.

    In that case the ref should override the linesman, no? Why did the linesman raise the flag? I admit, I do not know every technicality in the rule book.
     
    It's fecking annoying that we miss from 2 yards out and then concede and I'm fuming at that decision. He didn't touch it. These situations happen from free kicks very often and it's not offside. The ref and his assistant can feck off! Get BringCarrick on for Fellaini who's a useless midfielder and push Basti further forward and install some belief ffs!
     
    Our defense is poor. It has been masked for the last 18 months by the philosophy.

    Our signings under LVG have been poor.

    He has left our squad 3-4 senior proven players short.

    The PL must be awful if we are contenders.

    Think it's the right call after replays. But they should really change the rule to not be so bloody convoluted. If a player is offside, he's offside. That's it.

    We shouldn't have to make these types of excuses in the 6th CL group stage gsme tbh. Yeah jalf the team is out, but qualification should have been secured by the fifth game.

    the cruel thing about that goal was that the scoreline changed for about 30seconds and I was doing loa of celebrations and shouting "how has that gone in", even though Im sat on my own.

    Maybe, it just feels to me that if the question is over whether he interfered the lino should be able to see that.

    But meh, whatever, ultimately its the right call.

    On second viewing the referees didn't even look at the Wolfsburg players. The assistant linesman talked with the referee then after decided it was offside. Good decision, giving himself time to think about it.
     
    Forget about the decision. We should be more concerned with our midfield offering next to zero protection to our defense. Fellaini seems to have been given license to go where ever the feck he wants and Schweinsteiger is letting people run in behind him constantly. Even Lingard's offering no help to poor Varela.
     
    Wolfsburg look there for the taking if we'd be a bit more accurate with the final pass.

    But those who wanted an open game, you couldn't get more open than this, and those who wanted entertaining football and not caring whether we win or not, should be quite happy whichever way this match turns out - anyone changed their thoughts on this?lol

    Doesn't matter if he didn't touch it. New rules brought in during the summer mean it's the right decision.

    I don't even think LVG has set the team to not be about possession, I think the Germans are pressing the team much better than most PL teams have so far and it's showing. Our team is a wannabe Barcelona/Bayern team with possession. When the pressure is really on, it loses its cojones.
     
    Bastian and Fellaini our main problem. Carrick on for Fellaini, try to hold on to the ball for more than 20 seconds. We can get at this lot, plenty of joy between the centre-halves and full-backs. Really bizarrely unrepresentative of our season.

    If you seriously think the linesman would've called it offside anyway without player pressure, why the hell did the entire Wolfsburg team surround him? Disgrace.
     
    Lol at people trying to defend the goal. It was offside end of. Even if he doesn't touch it he is in the line of sight of the keeper so interferes with play.
     
    How many of the team out there are fighters? Battlers? I do not see the characters needed to pull this out, failure to qualify will be a disaster and there needs to be a serious squad overhaul and that includes the manager, smiler and the mannequin.

    He's been terrible. Lost the ball more than anyone, not tracking back, not making tackles, too slow to even be a presence when we're defending.

    If Carrick doesn't come on I'll be utterly shocked.

    The rule was changed in the summer and that is now offside.
     
    To be honest, if we lose it isn't LVG's fault. He's clearly told the players they must win, and has put out an attacking lineup. The players have been at fault thus far, they haven't shown enough intelligence and haven't shown enough heart.
