Memphis behind Martial...pretty much the only setup that has not been tried yet.
The squad is big enough, just that instead of quality he has padded it out kids.
With the current amount of games, we should have at least 20 quality outfield players and at least, two quality goalkeepers. We should then have a scattering of youth team players to assist during times of injuries and lesser games.
We're well short of cover for every position.

Depressingly true.Very surprised by the inclusion of Varela. What has Young done for LVG to seemingly have no faith in him all of a sudden?

I don't think Wilson is going to be transforming our attack. The problem is the severe lack of quality up front.

He wasn't playing Wilson, even with everyone else out, so the decision to loan him out is a good one so Wilson can get minutes. Not playing Wilson is a different question. There are only 3 possible outcomes out of 9 total where United end up playing Europa League football. Even a draw today would be enough to go through provided that PSV lose/draw.
I say all of that to say that the odds of Man Utd qualifying are very high. Same for Chelsea to be honest, playing at home and they don't even need to win.
Come Thursday England will have at least 3 teams in the knock out rounds, may be 4 if Arsenal can somehow miracle a 2-0 win in Greece without Ozil who didn't train today.

Carrick is creative, can pass more than 10 yards and is actually a lot more mobile than Fellaini - a good foil for Schweinsteiger who might get forward. Fellaini on the other hand only seems to offer an aerial threat - we can only make use of this at set pieces as he is likely to be playing deep in midfield - deep in midfield and his passing range is very limited

You shouldn't be too surprised, us getting knocked out at the group stage is a far bigger story than us going through.I can't believe we have to win this. What a hideous situation we've put ourselves in.
The concern isn't really about qualification, it's the fact we're heading into the busiest stage of the season with bags full of under 21 players holding our squad together. We also lack the type of player who will score the goals needed to be the difference.
You're right but I think we need to look at how we get so many injuries. It's the same every season, we have a crisis in a particular position and it costs us. This year it's fulbacks.Alan Green believes Gary Neville will be the boss next season if LVG goes out tonight.I wonder how some on here think youngsters would ever break into the squad.Historically a lot of them are due to taking chances when senior players are injured.We have 1 right back and 2 left backs out, what do you lot expect?
Worried because we lack any curtting edge and we simply have not looked good enough recently to think we can go to Germany and win
Loads of injuries and the fact you would expect psv to win makes us not the favourites
I would prefer to be in arsenals shoes.
