    Forget Carrick.... control isn't what we need today. What we need is to cause mayhem for Wolfsburg. Lingard, Memphis, Martial and Fellaini will do that. We're going through. Actually we're sailing through.

    LVG's big bollocks will see to it.
     
    What worries me is getting caught out on a counter with Fellaini going forward and Blind needing to do more passing in the opposition's half with Carrick out.
     
    Seeing that team has made me really hopeful it will be the 4-1-4-1 from the end of last season. Because if he wanted to play the usual two defensive midfield formation then Carrick would be playing.
     
    Like the look of the attack, the midfield is potentially a disaster though but given the circumstances there wasn't really much of an alternative.

    Can't see us winning, think they will counter and pick us off.

    As someone said, if BFS does end up suspended we cannot afford to lose Carrick.
     
    Don't see what Fellaini is going to offer playing in a midfield two. Can't dictate the play, can't pass further than 10 yards and hardly ever tackles without fouling.

    Schneiderlin, Shaw, Herrera + Rojo from the players van Gaal bought are injured, along with Rooney, Jones and Valencia from pre-LVG. The first four names alone are around 100M in terms of signings out.
     
    I don't think fellaini is a good enough footballer to play midfield.
     
    Just saw the line-up. It's...interesting. I don't know what to expect of it. At least it's something different though. I think I am a bit more confident now, actually.

    Many people were calling for us to play with a single pivot (BFS being the preferred choice). There you have it. I'm interested to see how it goes. I just hope that this is indeed the case and Fellaini isn't playing as a DM.
     
    It might be 433 with Mata playing deeper than usual. That would make sense for fellaini.
     
    Crazy that in a game of this stature we are left to play youngsters like this
     
    We currently have more points than PSV and we're in second place. Who says they beat CSKA anyway?

    We have Depay. We have Martial. Mata the technical opportunist is due a moment of clarity amidst the chaos that puts this all to bed. Fellaini might score a header somewhere.

    So there. Now that I've calmed you lot down, can I admit that I'm a bit nervous?


    Personally I'm hoping for a Moreno own goal.

    He's not good enough to start for us.
    This is such an important game but that team does not look strong at all. LVG really should have built up a bigger squad. We need a big performance from everyone to have a chance
