No Carrick and Varela over Young is very surprising.
Nick Powell and Borthwick Jackson. Good to see we're giving youth a chance, but not in a game of this magnitude. It is enforced on LvG by injuries, but then you wonder why the squad was so small to start with. That bench is just ridiculous, I know it's because of all our injuries but god damn.
Don't worry, our zombie passing will calm you right down soon enough.I don't know why but I'm strangely excited for this.
What were the other options?
Mcnair or Young ? Hardly stellar either.
We completely lost the midfield at home when BFS was subbed off and Carrick was out injured. No Carrick and Varela over Young is very surprising.

I imagine Louis doesn't want to lose the last 30 minutes again so will bring Carrick on for BFS to maintain some control on the game.
Any chance it'll be a 4-3-3 like last season?
De GeaProbably just the normal 4-2-3-1 though, only question is Mata, lingard or Memphis in the hole. They'll all rotate though at least. Or should so it should be fluid going forward.
Varela Smalling Blind Darmian
Schweiny
Fellaini Mata
Lingard Martial Memphis
Set piece by BFS.Don't see where the goals are coming from in that side.
They're injured. Otherwise between Schneiderlin/Carrick/Schweinsteiger/Herrera we have enough to rotate and keep it a top midfield every week. That speaks of a bigger problem if true, we should have a top CM to do that for 90 minutes 2 games a week.
Herrera is back in training according to him and the M.E.N. so that could be good news. They're injured. Otherwise between Schneiderlin/Carrick/Schweinsteiger/Herrera we have enough to rotate and keep it a top midfield every week.
I might go for a walk. I'm too tensed.
The Champions League is all about height, elbows and hair.I don't see how much Fellaini can bring that Pereira would not have been able to. Disappointing really.
Carrick and Schweini are the only 2 that can control a game, and I don't see much sign of LvG seeing Herrera as a CM, he prefers him as a #10 or even on the right. They're injured. Otherwise between Schneiderlin/Carrick/Schweinsteiger/Herrera we have enough to rotate and keep it a top midfield every week.

A lot of it is sat at home injured. Our starting XI is more comparable to an average team not european elite. which begs the question where did that 250m go and why did we spend it in this way?
van gaal will be gone at the end of the season if we dont reach the next round imo.
