Here is my question, hands up if you are secretly dreading having to watch this?

What I mean is if I drink a pint or two i am pretty sure I will nod off from lack of excitement. Any one else feel that way?

And honestly this is a big CL game and I could not of even imagined ever having this feeling just two years ago... :(.

Better drink three or four and have fun in case we'll qualify.

Not me. I usually feel that way about CL group games (regardless of who is manager) but tonight is essentially the beginning of knockout CL football. I know things have been a bit shit under Van Gaal recently but I - insane as I am - always think we will turn the corner in the next game. So I expect it to be a good game.

Can't wait. Even though we're bloody dire I can't help but be excited about this game, it's so important. 1-3. Memphis and 2 Martialian goals.

I'm quite concerned about their wingers, both Schurrle and Draxler can be handful and their right back is quite good. Atleast Gustavo isn't playing so our midfield might get more time on the ball which is crucial for Carrick to assert himself on the game.

Surprisingly confident about this, I think we'll do enough. It's nice to have that big European game feeling back.

I'd love to see us go back to last year's system for this one. Hopefully Basti can bring Herrera's energy to his position or else bring in Pereira at the hour mark.

    Martial
    Young Fellaini Schweinsteiger Mata
    Carrick
    Blind Smalling McNair Darmian
    deGea

    This for me too.

We are heading for the Europa League, aren't we?

Haven't been this anxious about a game in a while. Huge game for us. Similar to going away to Liverpool last season where everyone was starting to write us off, and then us dominating. Or Bayern going away to Juve under Van Gaal. Hopefully we respond in a similar fashion now. If there's any result that could really kick start us, it'd be a win here.

I think they'll get at least 2, and obviously we're going to have trouble replying. I just don't see this ending well for us.

Mata should play well against these lot if they actually attempt to attack us.

Who's going to step up tonight and grab the bull by the horns tonight? Hopefully someone will. Big game which will require big characters.

I think Memphis will be our saviour tonight (if he plays)

    Prediction:

    Wolfsburg 1 - 3 Manchester United

Your 'what we'll see team' looks a better team for this game. Pereira ahead of Carrick?, the mind boggles.

I think a lot of people like to see new faces playing for us, not realising that the guys normally on the bench are on the bench because they are generally not good enough to get a starting place.
When we first signed Valdes, some fans wanted us to play him, instead of our player of the year, DDG.

This will be a close game with a lot of chances for both teams. We'll see at least three goals tonight, I can feel it.

I gave up on the 'turning the corner' thing a few weeks ago but its making a bit of comeback for this match.
I think it'll be a good match by virtue of wolfsburg tbh. I dont see them being that cautious .. at all.
So I think our defence might win us this match.

I dont expect it though and I dont think i'll lose my shit if we do end up in the EL.
The feck up was in the 2 legs against PSV, getting a win away against Wolfsburg is a tall order for any team really.

None of them are right though, the lineup was leaked earlier today.
It can of course be fake, and someone having fun with our faces...
But if it is right, we'll have Varela as RB, Darmian left, Fellaini 10.
The rest like your 'what we'll see' - lineup.

You are right, that somebody in our team needs to step up and put in a MOTM performance, but the same applies to all our 0-0 scorelines. Unfortunately, we don't have anybody capable of putting in a performance which elevates him above the other 21 players on the pitch. It hurts me to say this, but its how I see it.

The best example was against PSV. Shaw got a broken leg. The culprit didn't even get a foul. Our players should've put in a high tempo passionate performance. What we actually saw was a weak/pathetic bunch of wimps, who lost the game. This is not opinion, but fact.

During the Summer I said that we needed to buy some cnuts. Players like Costa, Ibra, Keane, Souness, Ince, Roony@19 yrs old), Bastian (@Bayern & Germany) - players who can inject passion and brute force into our game, when required. These are the players who can lift us when we are heading towards 0-0 and the game is lacking purpose.
Right now, our team is made up of nice guys who wouldn't say boo to a goose. They step on the pitch and merely run down the 90 minutes, which results in so many 0-0 scorelines. No intent. No passion. No purpose.

I've been swinging like a pendulum between a conviction we'll win, because this is Manchester united, and ''they always score'', and the dread that we'll certainly lose, because it's hard to see where the goals come from.

    I feel like Waldner's kitten.

First time i predict 0-0 this season so we'll prob win 7-1.

If we lose Van Gaal will say we played really well and dominated the ball but lost due our best player/a youngster making a small error. He'll go on to say we missed the presence of the great Wayne Rooney.

Feck this doom and gloom! C'mon United!
    2 Wolfsburg OGs coming up:cool:

Don't care how we do it, Just bring the damn 3 points home!

In fairness to LVG, he always does things the long way around and by making it as difficult as possible but so far they've pulled through every time when it's mattered most.

Hope it continues tonight!! come on!!!
