I think Ten Hag will stick to that Casemiro, Mount, Bruno midfield. Problem is we dont control games enough to be so light on midfield. At this point I would rather play McTominay next to Casemiro rather than Mount it just leaves way to much space on midfield and we're incredibly open.

Evidence based on one game? Remember Evra’s first game?

Referee: Michael Oliver. VAR: Craig Pawson.

Don't expect a decision for us.
Christ they’re setting up a hatchet job to make up for Monday’s “red card and penalty feck up”

Yes, it's based on one game. That one game was against relegation candidates Wolves at Old Trafford and we looked shit. Now we're going away against a much more stronger opponent in Spurs.

I'm not saying its impossible to work with that midfield but as of now we look really fragile.

Spurs will be more expansive at home than Wolves are away. It will be difficult but I expect a lot of room to play in this could be the game for Sancho down the middle and Rashford off the left.

The midfield worries me less than the front line. Garnacho has an incredible future but based on his history of being more effective coming off the bench I'd start Sancho in the middle and go with Rashford on the left. Antony is frustrating to watch make the same mistake over and over but he should get the start one more time before we turn to Pellistri.

Onana did nothing wrong last week but now that he's under the microscope he'll have to be careful not to pick up a ridiculous pk that PL officials are itching to give him

It's up to ETH to change the tactics then, make sure one of the midfielder sits a bit deeper to help Cas. I think he goes with the same starting 11 presuming Martinez is fit to start.

Despite the win on Monday, I’d be very tempted to make changes after that poor performance against Wolves. However our squad is paper thin, particularly in attack so it’s very difficult to make any major changes. Maybe Sancho in for Garnacho but other than that, personally can’t see ETH changing too much simply due to a lack of very good options to pick from outside his starting lineup that can come in and improve that team massively.

    Onana

    Wan-Bissaka - Varane - Martinez - Shaw

    Mount - Casemiro - B.Fernandes

    Antony - Rashford - Sancho

Subs: Henderson, Dalot, Lindelof, McTominay, Eriksen, Pellistri, Martial, Garnacho

    Tottenham 1-2 Manchester United

eah until hojlund comes in only so much we can tweak around. Once he comes back that should open things up a bit more.

Pretty pessimistic for this game. The club simply has far too many distractions going on right now that it's bound to affect performance.

No place for such excuses. Once the players are on the pitch, that should be their only focus. City started firing on all cylinders after the investigation was first made public, and that was bigger than anything United has got going on.

No rashford as CF please. Offers nothing in central postions and with his back to goal. Put him on left.

Sancho in as false 9 and stick Martial on then.

Think we'll lose. We looked way off it on Monday, a continuation of pre season.

Very different as for city that was easy to toss in the us against the world mentality, but their club was at least fully aligned and others attacking them. This is just a circus going on with the club fractured, everyone differing opinions, and the chief executive of the club failing to make a decision on a big issue in a timely matter. It's fractured the fan base, it's fractured the staff, and it's brought shame on the club and politicians are getting involved now too. It's entirely different, and it's not an excuse, I'd be shocked if they aren't affected.

Well let's hope if we're going to persist with that midfield we do it at least with an alternative approach.

The whole talk of a fracture is an overreaction. The players have to do their jobs. Having an opinion so strong on the matter that it affects your performances, means you shouldn’t be playing football for Man United. Erik needs to get his shit together and instill some intensity in these players. It really is shameful behavior the level of effort they put in last week.

Are Spurs more expansive under this new fella? Could play right into our hands if so….

Quite a fe comments forecasting a lot of goals....actually think the opposite. Spurs look at lot mor solid defensively. Romero is a great cb, the dutch signing looked decent and was very impressed with the young Italian left back. They have a player in Bissouma now to control possesion in midfield and a threat in Maddison, but think until Bentancaur comes back they may y be over reliant on Maddison....its liek they have totally changed as there attack now looks more toothless than there defence as, Kulusevski and Son were so poor last season and started off in the same vein.

Think it will be a low scoring game with both sides having a lot of possesion without doing much in the final third, only a mistake or bit of magic wins this game see less than 3 goals myself, maybe even a 0-0 bore

Yes they play very expansive and brave football - if it comes off it is beautiful and if not you can see some very iffy goals conceded. Richarlison needs to find his scoring boots though.

I’m not being pedantic here, but we outran Wolves last week. Effort wasn’t the problem, we were just very tactically poor in midfield and 8 of our outfielders had off days.

Spurs conceded 2 goals in 45 minutes last week, their only game of the season

If Casemiro can keep Madison relatively quiet, but he needs a good upgrade on last week, then I think that would shut down a sizeable amount of Tottenham's threat, I can see Sancho coming in for Garnacho, with Rashford on the left, and possibly Eriksen or McTominay in for Mount.
Ten Hag would have learnt a lot from last week's poor showing.

He has to earn his fancy o mate. Just like you don't bestow a chant on a new signing, you don't bother spelling Rasmus's name right until he has his first 20 goal season.

fair play. We keep the j unless he goes 10 games without scoring too yeah?

Our players are already on the beach. I fully expect a comfortable Spurs win. 4-1 to Spurs with a Son double.

Yeah getting a result with all the shite going on this week would be absolutely incredible

Do love how people present stats :) They conceded two goals in 90mins....they also lost there best defender within a few minutes of the game....before he went of they conceded zero goals....and they only conceded two goals with Sanchez in there back line haha.

Good point actually, is Romero out with these concusiion rules or playing, if he is out I will take back my prediction.

I just think individually at least, there first choice defence looks so much stronger than last season without the likes of Dier, Sanchez and Davies in it who are all so bang average.

I do think Vicario looked very shaky in his debut, especially with the ball at his feet....but I actually feel he will turn out to be a decent signing over the season for them
